Jessie Daniels had more tackles in less games. I never said Daniels was better - I said he started and played more.

You're right, and so were the others who said great college play doesn't always translate to the NFL ... but in LaRon's case, he's already lived up to the hype in his rookie season and the sky's the limit with him so it's a moot point. Anyway I agree these pissing contests can go on & on Steltz vs Landry, Vick vs Russell etc. It's a matter of opinion and yours is as good as mine ... maybe better.

I thought you were inferring that Daniels was better because he started. My point was that even though Daniels did start most of those games and probably played more snaps, their numbers were actually pretty comparable.

No doubt. I was just pointing out who the coaches thought was better due to the amount they played.

I don't think that, but you could make a case for it. I think Craig had better instincts when the ball was in the air. But I think thats negated by Laron's physical play.

I did not say he was a better player. I said Steltz had a better year in 2007, than Laron did in 2006.

Steltz 2007 - 101 Tackles, 6 INT's, 7 Pass Breakups, 5 TFL's

Landry 2006 - 74 Tackles, 3 INT's, 4 pass Breakups, 3.5 TFL's

CJ is further along at this point in his career than CS was as an underclassmen. Cs was not known for his cover skills, he could bring the wood.

Laron is the best Safety to ever step on the field for the Tigers. Chad Jones will really have to impress to catch him, if he doesn't start at one of the safety spots this year. FWIW I do actually think Curtis Taylor is better in coverage then either Laron or Steltz, I'm hoping for a big year from him.

not even close... steltz was a good leader, and a master at being in the right place at the right time... but c'mon Laron was a stud in every sense of the word.

I think Chad Jones might make people forget about both though...

Yes because we should evaluate safeties based on stats. Hey we all like a good whiteboy, but Landry was better, is better, and will always be better. Steltz being a 1st team All-American was laughable last year.

Yeah Stats are the way to judge quarterbacks they don't apply to DBs.

My sarcasm detector sucks, are you serious? So Tyson Jackson had ~3 sacks last year, he sucks right?
