mingo with another two years in the weight room could be an ncaa 400 meter champ and sack leader in college football. I wish they'd let him run track, it was a thing of beauty even when he beat my bro at the state track meet.

I believe we have the best collective offensive line in college football. I believe we have the best rush defensive end(mingo), best nickel corners (brooks and mathieu), best number one receiver(randle),best cover corner (claiborne) and the best punter in the country!
It's amazing how good we are top to bottom.
this is a great summary, you could also add the best STABLE of backs, the most expierience at QB and the best DT rotation with brockers, logan, freak and downs.

forgive me for forgetting about our five running backs (honestly)
is it scary and safe to assume that everyone of them will receive at least one NFL carry?

if you had to pick a team MVP like Les will at the end of the year, who would it be?
Defensively the three top choices, for me, are Claiborne, Mathieu and Montgomery. They are the most disruptive game changers, but, really, we have about 18 guys that made great plays on defense in 2011. If pressed to pick 1, based solely on their play as a defensive player, I'd say Mathieu, but it's VERY close between 1 and 2.
Offensively, there just doesn't seem to be a single guy - Randle is probably the closest to a consensus choice, because of the split QB time. Tough to name a second, though.
Maybe "the OL", but that's a tough sell as the best player. Easier to say "the DL" the other way, so I'll roll back to the choice I would have made after week 1: Mathieu, with Claiborne being a close second.
(BTW the players that "stepped it up when necessary" award goes to T-Bob on the offense, Ron Brooks on defense and Brad Wing on ST - Wing technically the starting punter, but 3 guys, 2 of which are not technically starters - both seniors, however - and a specialist dramatically impacted our success down the stretch. Amazing when you consider Brooks has started 3 games in 4 years and how maligned T-Bob has been over the years.)

I would venture to say LSU is the most complete and deep team in the nation.
Take any player away from playing the National Championship and you won't notice a difference.
Take Richardson away from Bama and they are hurting bad.

take blackmon or okie state's qb away from cowboys and you get an average team
take richardson or any two linebackers from alabama and they're still 11-1 but loss to lsu is by ten or more and in regulation
take away the running back and qb from VT and you get a .500 team
any other team has a best player. lsu does not have a clear cut one

Brockers is very underrated. Gets double teamed alot and still causes havoc
