And I can post one of one of your DBs getting his arse planted (and I mean planted) on the turf by a big time stiff arm. The point of your photo?

I'm just saying this speed advantage isn't so evident like a majority of SEC fans make it out to be

there are 11 players on the field... if 4 from OSU are "just as fast" as 4 from LSU, and the other 7 from LSU are faster than those from OSU, then the LSU team is much faster than the OSU team. Comprehend that? Cause that is about what it was on both sides of the ball. Team speed makes a big difference during the course of a game. Take the acceleration/burst into the equation, and it gets even more dramatic in effect. Speed alone cannot win the game. But having 7 of 11 players on each side of the ball faster than the other team when both teams have equal talent otherwise can make a big difference over the course of the game. I am not necessarily talking 40 speed either. I am talking 20 time. The practicality of game speed should be measured by acceleration and burst, which is where you butter your bread in football.

And I can post a photo of your coach looking like a defeated man. I can also post photos of your fans crying having been exposed two years in a row. I can post photos that show what failure, dejection and downright humiliation. Your point being?

They don't, obviously. They are still at step 2 of the 8 step program for the 'once proud but now mediocre football programs'.

Yeah, but to be honest...

Does speed really make THAT big of a difference? If it does, why is the SEC running at .500 with the Big10 in the past 2 years?

So is the thread about "rubbing it in" which many of y'all seem adept at or is it about the original question?

BTW, your speed reasons carry little validity because Ohio State has put many more players in the pros this decade than LSU and the NFL doesn't draft "slow" players.

Wow, I don't see any reason why LSU should be bragging like Gator fans. At least gators fans have a reason to act like pricks. LSU was actually peg to win, heck their fan went in that game uncertain of the outcome but hoping for the best, not like they did against Florida , sure of themselves.

IN fact, Other then the initial trash talking on both side, I fail to see why alot of us like to rub in Florida victory along with the LSU one.

Anywho, I still feel it was power that broke OSU that day not speed.

By mediocre you mean, 3 NG Appearences, 1 BCS Championships, 4-2 BCS Bowl Record

Best Winning percentage since 1950, 1995, etc.

Multiple Hiesmans, NFL players, etc from whatever year you want to start at...

Tell me when the non mediocre stuff starts that we haven't accomplished THIS DECADE or any time before.

Ohio State is the only team in the Big Ten with as much depth as LSU, Florida, etc.

The recruiting rankings support this. To say that OSU doesnt' have talent at the level of LSU or Florida is displaying a lack of knowledge. OSU is one of the best in the country in recruiting year in and year out. In fact, OSU fielded a faster team than LSU did in the NCG and I'm not just throwing statements out there. Their average team speed was superior to LSU.

The one area where SEC teams usually have better speed is on the DL and at LB and it shows when a top tier SEC teams plays schools that are unaccustomed to facing playes that fast at those posititons. Once more Big 10 teams (ala Michigan) go to the spread offense that advantage will be neutralized. Fans that regurgitate the "SEC speed" line give our team and our conference as a whole a bad name because it simply isn't true.

Look at OSU's recruiting rankings over the past 6 years compared to LSU's and Florida's.

2002 OSU 5th, LSU 15th, UF 20th
2003 OSU, *41 LSU 1st, UF 2nd
2004 OSU 9TH LSU 2nd, UF 7th
2005 OSU 12TH, LSU 22nd, UF 15th
2006 OSU 12th, LSU 7th, UF 2nd
2007 OSU 15th, LSU 4th, UF 1st
2008 OSU 4th, LSU 11th, UF 3rd
* Recruiting suffered due to Clarrett incident

The average team rankings break down as follows.
OSU 16.3, LSU 10.3, UF 8.3. If your team is consistently recruiting within the to 20 the talent differences are not too relevant. If you take away the 2003 class which was sub par due to the Maurice Clarrett incident, then the gap narrows even further.

IMO, the losses are highlighted because they happened back to back. How many even knew OSU was 0-9 in bowl games versus the SEC until this year?

If LSU is 7 seven players faster than OSU and really "that fast" as you make it out to be, then it should be obvious from watching the game. It wasn't. The only thing that was obvious was LSU was the better team that deserved to win the game.

I remember two of those really well actually. And I did say 'now mediocre'. I'm not taking away from OSU's past glory, just from it's current status.
