Peterson ate a little crow on New Years Day.
Penn State picked on him, contrary to P.P.'s opinion that he's the best in the country.
He aint, and needs to work hard to improve next season.
He said he played soft because of the turf, but it looked to me like he got used and abused.

for the season, how many opponent TD's were on him?
1 vs Arky
1 vs PSU
which others?

Rantards always see doom and gloom--nothing changes here on the RANT.

No, it means that Peterson is one of the best CBs in college FB according to those who rate players for a living.
No, that's not what it means. NFL potential and CFB performance are related, but they are not even close to being the same thing.

It's absurd rantards blasting him for having a bad game with terrible field condition
he is one of The elite db in the nation
so many threads about him , they need to shut the frick up

Haven't read this whole thread but here's my thought:
First the field sucked. I played on stuff like that back in the day and a good head fake can leave a db slipping all over the place. And, I think that the major reason was that he has let the interception bug get to him. Instead of just being the lockdown corner that he can be, lock down the opponent's best receiver he tries to be a frigging hero and make the int. If the young man would just neutralize their best receiver and let the other guys take care of the rest he and the team would be better off for it. IMHO, he is beginning to believe all the hype people have spoken about him.

Well, when the best player on the whole team has that bad of a game, I think it's a legitimate concern, and if there is something that could account for it, I'd like to know.
Most players of PP's stature NEVER have a game that bad. It wasn't just 3 or 4 or 5 mistakes--it was the entire game, on just about every single pass play. AND it looked like PSU's whole offensive gameplan was geared toward exploiting him.
I was in Florida for the weekend, so I haven't read anything before today. I was sincerely looking for things that might have been wrong with him. I'm not necessarily blasting him, but I am saying that his performance was extremely disturbing to a fan trying to look forward to next year.

You can't compare the numbers of 2 players who play different positions
The two positions are close enough to compare.
quote:
So, by this stat, PP shouldn't be starting for a Division 1-A college FB team. There are 240 CBs starting for the 120 Div 1-A teams (FBS). These stats you are quoting are absolutely worthless, and if you can't see that, you're the dumbass
You apparently have no clue what you are talking about. You asked where the numbers come from and I gave them to you. Look them up.
I will put it so an idiot can understand. LSU has played 13 games, and PP has TWO interceptions. TWO!!! That is third place on the team. CJ, CH, PP. In no way is that skewed.
quote:
Very true, but you're claiming he isn't better than Hawkins or Jones because ESPN.com
Why cant you get off of PP cock long enough to see there are other good players on this team that deserve credit.

Apparently, not much.
That is pretty fricking original

It certainly looked like PSU made a decision to specifically go after Peterson from the outset. If the conditions were the only issue, then I don't see why the Lions wouldn't have just gone after the other CB position like other teams usually do. But they didn't. They specifically isolated Peterson as the weak link on the LSU defense. It's a little worrisome
This is exactly what happened, and too many LSU fans can't accept it. CH plays the cb popsition better than PP does at this exact point in the season.

All of this. Penn State didn't buy into the PP hype. No doubt he is a great talent but he isn't the shutdown corner people are making him out to be.

I am glad that there are people who actually see things for what they are. PP has all the talent in the world, but that does not make him great.

PSU's corners had to play in the same conditions. Blaming the turf doesn't fly.
I think PP is really good, but his attempts to be aggressive, cause him to get burned sometimes. That, and his cocky attitude, which is good to a certain extent.

Here's the quote from Daryll Clark...looks like he was targeting Petersen.
Clark was right on target in the first quarter for Penn State's only touchdown. Moye, who two plays earlier dropped a pass right in his hands that would have gone for a 16-yard gain, got behind LSU's Patrick Peterson for a 37-yard scoring reception.
"He's an aggressive corner, " Clark said. "He drove on the out pattern, just like we thought he was going to do.
"Derek Moye slipped out the back door. It was a designed double move. Right when I saw him drive out, Moye got separation. I just wanted to put it out there not too far. I didn't want to underthrow it because he has good makeup speed."

OHH my goodness, PState coaches must be crazy going after the number one cb in the country!!!
If this doesn't tell you everything you need to know, you have no fricking clue.

does chavis really tell him to play 10yds back?
YES! We've been playing 10-15 yards of the WR most of the season
Its a bend dont break system to try and avoid the big play. As a result, teams throw short routes and slip screens and nickle and dime us to death. Thus keeping the defense on the field during long sustained drives.
