No. They were actually pretty forgiving given the fact that (A) our team just destroyed their undefeated season, (B) in my exuberance I added insult to injury and (C) by their nature they are typically quick to anger and overreaction (e.g., Harvey Updike, Tree Poisoner).

The Lord was with me that day. Just as he kept the lions mouths closed when Daniel was thrown in the lion's den, he made the defeat so crushing that Bamers in Section 102 did not know what to do with me (and I high-tailed it the hell out of there!).

Or maybe it's because I was just bigger than all of them!

Either way.

And Trent Richardson. The man is a difference maker. He will be delivering body blow after body blow. We better come ready to tackle. If we tackle how we did v. WVU, we'll be in trouble.

What was the extent of trents injury last year against us? He had 28 yds, pretty sure he played up til the 4th. We did hold ingram to 97 yards last year. compared to the what? 130 the year before?

Ingram had 42 yds in the second half with a long of 12. Our d has the ability to not let trent take over the game.

Well, now that I think about it, bama doesn't have depth at qb, receiver or running back.

Is this sarcasm? Trent has never ran all over us. Ingram did in 09 though, chavis' 1st year.

We got the same production from shep and ridley as they got from ingram and trent.

what are you talking about? I am saying if one of Trent/lacy, maze or McCarron go down in the next 4 weeks, they are pretty fricked.

the better team doesn't always win

And yes, i think alabama is the better team.

In any game , barring blatant bad calls ala Toledo/Syracuse, the team that wins IS the better team in THAT PARTICULAR GAME.

Injuries - should have backups ready
Youth - should have recruited better
Weather - both teams are affected

There ARE no excuses to be given - the better team wins- that's all.

6-2 the last 8 years and we have never lost to ULM.
As long as we do not leave it up to the officials, we should be Ok this year also.

Bama looks to be the overall better team by a slight margin. Like most games that have two teams closely matched the difference will be turnovers and the I own the Zebras from Bama Land. The Zebras seem to always get us at Bama and Auburn.

The only people saying that are the intelligent football fans. You can be an Lsu fan and be an intelligent college football fan it's just a very rare occurrence, like Haleys comet passing the earth. Bama is more dominating. There defense hasn't given up 400 yards passing, I don't care what your excuse is. They have more seniors a better coach and play us at home. We are playing Boise in the sugar bowl.

Bama seems beatable through the air, but that front 7 is nasty and masks it.

Hell, any team that plays their style of defense is beatable through the air with good receivers and a good QB.

These are the 2 best teams in the country and the game is at Alabama. They are the favorites.

Alabama is a different kind of team. They are methodical, machine-like, almost predictable, but very disciplined, playing as programmed, and making few mistakes. They can, when the match-up is right, make a good team look almost helpless. Well like an...elephant

LSU on the other hand is an ever-changing, very alive, ferocious pack of predators, not always playing perfectly, but having that mean streak that will suddenly unleash a fury, overwhelming and confusing the prey, leaving them to wonder what just happened, all the while the encounter is getting out of hand, and the bleeding can't be stopped. The beast will then calm, switch back to instinct, becoming that methodical machine that grinds the life out of the latest victim. Like .... tigers.

Very hard to compare the two.

No I think we are going to beat them the same way we have beaten everybody else - with a balanced attack. The same way we will have beaten Bama if it happens.

In the first five games - LSU and Bama have played similar ranked teams in away /neutral/home games and there is not much evidence to prove that one is better than the other till they actually play on the field.

The O scoring points is a wash - they have pretty much the same amount of points scored per game.

The purpose of a D is to prevent the opposing O from scoring and to give the ball back to its offense to score - That is all.

Everything else is lagniappe.

Sacks, TFLs, TOs, Interceptions, Safeties etc.. are all instruments that help to achieve the goal. It is irrelevant when the goal is achieved and useful only for fantasy football and off-season analyses.

WVU had 500 yards and yet only 21 points. The goal is not to play stats-defense -the goal is to keep them from scoring and follow the coach's plan to achieve that.

LSU has a decided advantage in the special teams that Bama doesn't have.

It is indeed very hard to give one team the obvious nod over the other.

I don't know if Bama is better, but they didn't give up over 500 yards in the WVU game like we did...
