You realize in order to effectively set up another play that the set up play itself has to be at least somewhat successful?

all depends on how you define success. the staff knows that JJ is limited in the passing game, most of the damage is done with underneath stuff. the threat of JJ running the option from the spread formation helps keep the defense honest, the safeties must account for the run. so you can't really judge the option by how many yards it gains on any individual play, but on what it's impact is on the offensive game as a whole...

Threat of JJ running the option? The play has a net total of -7 yards. It isn't helping the passing game at all.

UF did when they had Harvin??

You know you're talking about the masters of the option?
UF used the option to set up all those juicy plays. I'd really like to see UF's Shovel option for RS and Blue.

Les probably went ahead and scripted all the plays for the season this summer.

Saves time.

To spread the other team out to help other plays. Also to get shepard in space as well as other backs.

Because it actually got a first down one time and we all know how important it is to make a first down rather than put the ball in the hands of the 5 star receivers.

The reason is because Jefferson cant throw the ball. He is slow and inaccurate throwing the ball.

We did try another one to Tolliver in the N.C.game. It was incomplete. They don't work when a team like Vandy plays zone the whole game. It would be better if people like you know what they were talking about before making the same old statements to put down the coaches.

Because JJ doesn't have a grasp of more plays in the playbook.
