so i would not necessarily say they have an easier schedule

Its a fact. They do.

We go to UGA, Ole Piss & Bama. PLUS play Florida.
They dont have to play Florida at all.

I expect no worse than 9-3.

It is different because we have seen JJ be very successful in the 2 games that he started, and as a THIRD STRING TRUE FRESHMAN who the coaches were trying to redshirt. So you can imagine the reps he was getting through the course of last season.

He was a redshirt freshman that had two fall camps, a spring camp and many reps with the one's through the course of a season like Lee had, that should have been able to have a adequate season under those circumstances. That is not exactly being thrown to the wolves like many have stated. JJ was thrown to the wolves at the end of the season and kicked their arse.

If it wasn't for the defensive collapse in the Arkansas game, we would be discussing when we thing JJ's first loss as a starting HS or College QB would come.

QB: looks solid

D: looks passive, wait and react

punting: sucks so far

I'm still excited to see this team progress and I think when all is said and done Jefferson will be a good, solid quarterback for this program and this will be a solid LSU team, the problem lies with the expectations of the fanbase.

I tried to temper these expectations before we ever played a game (you'll notice my original post was on 8/31/09), and still think we all need to be patient with this team, specifically with our 19-year old starting QB.

On the bright side, Jefferson is not making the stupid mistakes that I was expecting, so that's definitely a positive so far. But the vertical passing game is certainly "not there yet" and will take some time. Patience my fellow Tiger fans, patience.

I'm with ya Doc ... we definitely appear to be on the same "page" as far as Jefferson is concerned.

Patience is key!
