You do realize there is more than just GPA requirements to maintain eligibility? An athlete also must show progress toward getting a degree. There are required number of hours passed in order to be eligible as well. I seriously doubt Gilbert has enough hours passed to play this coming season whether he gets his GPA up or not.
I believe the requirement is 12 hours per semester or 24 hours per year and a 2.0 to stay eligible. If he has 12 hours and a 1.0 from the fall semester and skipped the spring he needs to take 12 hours through summer and two intercessions and average a 3.0 in those classes before fall semester begins.
His path is probably more nuanced than that but apparently there is a path. Hopefully he puts in the work and it all works out.

Was told by a Very Reliable Source that O put it to the Team and they voted to have him back. He is currently taking courses and if he passes he will be eligible and playing in the fall.

Probably one of few posts that is accurate.
Hope he is at full speed when we play Bama

Problem isnt being away from home problem is way deeper than that. Medical stuff.

I hope not. Guys like that eventually cause more trouble than they are worth and bad for team morale. I like Cole Taylor. He's more like Foster Moreau and for sure the only player on the Tiger Team to have sense enough to give his shoe to a big dummy that world throw it downfield and cause us to win at Florida. That shoe and Cole's portrait should go in the tiger trophy case...Gilbert could not have handled the shoe-throwing opportunity............

If the team voted him back ...and the coaches want him back ...end of discussion

Until he catches the game winning TD vs Alabama and the national championship, then some will still be remembering 2020.

To many people involved so much that I doubt he’s going to be back.
