the misuse of trindon is apalling at times.
yes gary, everyone KNOWS your going to give trindon the ball. Use him as a decoy sometimes...
quote:Trindon has been used as a decoy hundreds of times. It's just that the typical fan doesn't notice it, because you are paying attention when Trindon gets the ball, not when he doesn't get the ball. The human mind focuses on and/or remembers the action of him getting the ball, not the inaction of him not getting it.
1000
This is something that has driven me crazy since Crowton took over as OC.

Yeah, I formation sucks. It doesn't matter if you pass or run it's the formation. It's been proven to be so unsuccessful that virtually every n.f.l. team uses it.
Jimmy johnson was a true Dumbarse for using it at Miami (hurricanes & dolphins) and dallas. Didn't he basically eliminate the wishbone O due to his success with the I against switzer and OU? How could anyone ever think about using this?
How many times have we seen the 3/4 and 4/3 defense get hot and cold? The bottom line is, it's not one formation, not one style, it's using parts of formations that create mismatches and executing the play for success.
Everyone loved the V tech offense, right. It was out of the I where the success was coming. Hester was running up the gut because they were small. they loaded the box to stop him, we went over the top.
If you can run the ball first, it opens everything else up. If you can't, it limits you. All of sudden your qb is getting pressure, you are having to throw quick, and incompletions/ interceptions are more likely.
No one throws it more out of the spread than Texas Tech. they haven't won a conference title, and ole miss schooled them in the bowl game because they were one dimensional. They get an occasional upset, however, you won't win big on a consistant basis with that philosophy.

what's it like to have a great running formation against USC and then never use it again?
It was only a matter of time.

no it was actually DJ.
im just tripping now cause this man takes one line out of the whole discussion and wants to have a problem with it.
if this was not the first time he had done it i would not have even responded

I always get caught in this trap, I think KW is a great back and "can" do more. I liked that formation too.
Trindon used as a decoy hundreds of times
yeah right.
I guess with the CS KW backfield, something Crowton decided had them not use it. I mean it's almost like we're saying LSU deliberately stopped using something that could have changed the teams fate in '08
