WIN THE WEST NEXT YEAR?
Someone will, but not LSU.

If you like Slim and None, then you better hurry because Slim is walking out the door now.

WHAT DO YALL THINK
That Les Miles will never win another championship of any kind, that he will never beat Florida or Alabama again, that Ole Miss, Arkansas and possibly Auburn will all have winning records against him for the remainder of his career and that he will be fired by the end of the 2011 season (although I hope for sooner).

We can't even beat Ole Miss for crying out loud.

Well, since it's 12/09 and we will soon be playing on New Year Day as the 3rd ranked team in the always powerful SEC...hell yeah...I like them too!!
I mean, it's not like Bama or Florida ran away from us in our games this yr and its not like Les has never bested either team.
So, lets go for it. That's a hell of a lot better than running around with our tail between our legs fearful of a coach who can get beat at home by ULM.

Don't you people know that you cannot say anything positive about the LSU football team on this board, you will always be hammered by the TG Head Coaches on this board.

NEXT YEAR?

AL is losing a whole bunch of defensive starters. If they re-load w/o a blip and win the West again, THEN I think we see a trend and THEN need to start re-evaluating our coach.
Why wait to re-evaluate? Tiger Rant Nation has already declared that Miles & Crowden are lame-duck (and they'd fire them yesterday if they could), the offense is hopeless and can't be fixed, JJ and all our QBs suck, we'll miss Porter (though he had very little impact as an assistant--good luck figuring out that one), our top recruits are now looking at other schools, our redshirt freshmen are too young and won't be ready next season, a good segment of disenchanted underclassmen will transfer and R. Shepard is too small, can't throw & maybe he can return kicks (and he'll get hurt anyway).
Oh yeah, and we're losing a ton of key senior players and starters that we can't replace (even though they were major contributors on an LSU team that was lucky, terrible, and poorly coached anyway, while going 9-3 with a bowl game to play). Also, the program is in a rapid decline from which it will never re-emerge, and every SEC team but Vandy is on the rise, but even that doesn't matter because N. Saban will lead Alabama's impending dynasty and will now rule college football until the end of days.

All that matters, is that Les "Blockhead" Miles is here, and that's the reason LSU will no longer win any championships of any kind, as long as he is here! No way in HELL LSU wins the west, much less the SEC! Mediocrity, and worse, has set in, and being accepted by many! "Give him another year, or it will be alright, or you can't fire a coach just 2 or 3 years removed from a so-called National Championship". Oh really, well when the program is heading the wrong way, and the product you see on the field looks like horseshite, and all throughout the year to boot, anybody can and should be fired! frick Miles! It is no longer enjoyable to watch LSU play, or attempt to play, football!

'Bama will be favored and that's not altogether bad. LSU won the SEC in '01 and '03 when they were not the favorite to even win the west. They won as the prohibitive favorite in '07 but as the favorite in '06 they finished second to Ark. The game of the year will likely come down to Nov. 6 in Tiger Stadium against the Tide if LSU can take care of business. I would still favor 'Bama to win but LSU will have the best shot at supplanting them IMHO.

It was ALL sarcasm! And it's an accurate (but not complete) composite of what Ranters have said all year, with no end in sight.
However, your reply (without malice) begs the question: When you chose to ask only about the "re-emergence" line, were YOU being "sarcastic?"

Uh, you do realize I never supported or rejected anything about Miles, coaching (or lack of it) in my post, right?
Thanks, though, for adding more material, trends and declarations that I may have missed.

Dude, you sure do pick your spots when it comes to posting here (now up to 49, and LSU has won two BCS titles since you joined).
Yeah, 31-10 over Auburn, while 'Bama trailed them until the game's final 75 seconds. Go figure.
This is a good example of when to schedule your "bye" weeks. Sometimes it helps, other times, not-so-much. LSU's "best" win (unless you think the Georgia or Arky wins were better) followed a bye after losing to Fla., which benefitted from a bye before facing us; no way Tebow even suits up against us a week after his concussion.
Also, 'Bama had its bye before hosting LSU, but not in 2010. LSU, though, scheduled its extra week before Ala. comes to TS Nov. 6 (after playing at Auburn Oct. 23).
Uh-oh, bordering on expressing optimism concerning LSU football...must reject that emotion, must reject...OK, there. I'm over it. What were we talking about?
