I see your point....I also would like to know how good of friends that Paul and Jacko were I have about 10 friends that I would really give a shite enough about not to outbid them on against something that formerly belonged to them that could make me a lot of money that was open for bid to anybody with the money.....yea probably about 10-15 or so.

PM actually was worth mre than MJ at that point and could have easily beat him on the bidding.
the point is that he shouldn't have had to
Why? Music rights are an asset. They can be bought and sold like a stock or a piece of property. As it was the 47.5 mil MJ bought them for was a steal. They were worth much more than that.
PM didn't own them. He has no right to bitch because MJ spotted an under price asset.

PM wrote a song or two for MJ's first solo album and they sang a song or two together on Thriller. I think all of it has been blown out of proportion over the years by PM cause he is sour over it and MJ stayed silent about it so more people side with PM cause of his crying over it.

McCartney advised MJ that the best investment for a musician was music rights. So MJ told him he was going to buy the right to his (McCartney's) songs. he didn't quite pull that off but he did buy the majority of the Beatles catalog and MJ and SOny outbid McCartney and Yoko Ono in the process. That is where the issue turned sour, when MJ started licensing songs like "Revolution" to Nike and "Yesterday" to a ton of companies for commercials.
MJ then borrowed twice against his half of the catalog (Sony still owns the other half) so he couldn't give the rights back to McCartney even if he had wanted to.
Snopes explains it fairly well.
Also, it wasn't just the Beatles' songs. But I wonder how many other songs in the collection were profitable.

Or that just because PM had the money he should be forced to pay through the arse for it?

it's an asset that he didn't own that was worth a lot of money. why shouldn't he have had to pay out the arse for it?

It was actually a steal at that price. PM made a bad business move and MJ made a great one. PM is just pissed he fricked up.

Or that because MJ and PM were friends, MJ should let PM buy the catelog for 10's of millions less than it was worth?

I am sorry but friend or not Paul really can't be mad when he had the chance to buy it. At that point it was business.
