the Beatles signed a recording contract with a record label when they were starting out just like any band trying to make it. This contract and the songs rights that resulted from it are what was sold to MJ.

But PM still had the funds to purchase them if he wanted to.

Yep and again all we have to guy buy is PM saying how much of BFFs him and MJ were prior to this.

if he has given up on it and then you step in, sure. but if you are actively bidding up the price while he is trying to secure it, that is a dick move.

that's one of the dumbest things that I've read on this board.

Ummm...no him and Lennon formed a public company to save on taxes and that public company got bought out. Those are the rights MJ has.

a thing is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If MJ is willing to pay more than PM, then that's what the thing is worth. Why should McCartney get to buy an asset for less than its market value? That's absurd.

I don't think you want any cookies made by princess. Best case scenario is that they'd be burnt to a crisp.

did you read the article I quoted? the beatles didn't go public and the beatles didn't sell anything

the record label they originally signed with in 1962 is what was sold and they had no rights to ownership of that label. McCartney and Ono were public bidders for it just like anyone else.

McCartney's intellectual rights are still his and he has been paid MANY MANY times over for them.

I think some of you are confusing what was sold and what was kept

I don't think it matters. It could be a golden banana. Bill Gates doesn't get to buy microsoft stock at below market rates just because he wants it.
