Playing along with the OP: I could see an AI platform that has an algorithm that researches a plaintiff’s profile (social media, education, credit score, etc.) and analyzes the facts of both sides case, the jurisdiction, etc., and says based on experience that plaintiff will settle for X after a certain amount of time or won’t ever settle or something else.

Yeah the only thing I could see is quantum, which was my guess earlier, too.

Small scale PI deals with 100% liability almost all of the time, so I don't see how any tech will have an impact there.

Now, what WILL kill the PI industry is self-driving cars.

Also, the problem of setting a number is not a hard problem for big data. Lawyers may think it's a hard problem,

I don't know any PI attorney who thinks this is a "hard" problem. They just act that way for negotiations to try to get more.

I believe Lexis and Westlaw have had quantum calculators for a while, too. The AI wouldn't be very effective without their datasets I imagine. I don't see why we need another option.

If the defendant directly gave the plaintiff anywhere from 28 to 49 million dollars

But the defendant wont do that. They would rather give 0 and will do everything in their power to do so. IT amazing the number of cases that have 100% fault established and a defendant still saying frick off even with an attorney. Blame the attorneys all you want but they wouldn't be in business if insurance companies were not equally corrupt.

Lol, if the plaintiff would just ask really nicely, maybe that could work!

you clearly don't understand how this works.....it could definitely work in cases where there's no or very minor injury but it will never work in catastrophic cases worth 7 figures. PI firms will invest six figures in a 7 figure case of that magnitude. is AI going to depose company reps, hire consultants, experts, and pay for surgeries?

Will AI be licensed to practice Law? I'm sure it could draft the most amazing demand letters possible for people without attorneys; but the insurance companies will wise up fast and ignore them.

I appreciate the feedback - it is anticipated that AI will reduced legal work by 47%. There is change coming - just trying to get my head around how LA will be impacted.

The way some people file lawsuits and answers you would swear they’re are Mad Libs books to help you file a case.
