Looks like a colder than normal week next week.
And from everything I've read, this is supposed to be the trend all winter...a Greenland block that allows the jet stream to dip south causing the midwest, east, and south to be quite frigid (much like last year).
I might add that polar regions in both Siberia and Canada haven't seen this much snow this EARLY since 1975-76. Early northern snow cover plays a significant role in determining how early winter will come and how cold it can get.
So what does this do for your natural gas plays?

My commodities guy e-mailed me about the Siberian thing quite some time back. If natural gas doesn't get to at least $5 this winter, I'd be hugely surprised.

Anyone have a sense as to what effect low oil prices will have on future NG prices as we head into a potentially cold winter?
Seems as though the price of oil was much higher the last few winters when NG prices have spiked. Looks like that won't be the case this winter. Any chance NG prices stay down?

Cash did pop up .14 yesterday. There always seems to be the largest disconnect between cash and December for obvious reasons.
December settling between .03-.05 lower. Next time it dips a nickel I'm out of the short.

It is really remarkable, cash and December gas are in backwardation almost .60 as I type this.
There is going to be a huge swing in either cash or December at some point.
