6000-5500 by June. I say we stabalize there and begin a slow uphill trudge. We may not make it back to 10K until the end of the decade but if you have the free cash to buy in now it could be a boon down the road.
Economy will continue to contract through the third quarter. Jobless claims will hit a high in say August-October.
Also, credit to Colonel Hapablap. I was getting frustrated last fall and it was when I read one of his posts that I realized that we were definitly heading to at least 6k. I reigned back from the market and shuffeled some things. Looking forward to buying back in soon.

No bank fix, no recovery. Until that pivotal factor is seriously addressed, I will continue to believe that the global economy will stay firmly planted in its downward trajectory. I'm sure we'll get another trade-able rally in equities, maybe as soon as the end of this week since we'll be in another weak news period after NFP on Friday.

EU CBs said they are not going to bail out Western European banks. Warning! Shitz Storm coming to a central bank near you! Tin Pot wannabe rabble rousers lining up to take overy countries that you probably didn't know existed.
The situation in EU has the flavor of 'Nostromo' by Conrad. A economic/political blow up in Ukraine could be the 'start of something big' from some song and dance movie...Gene Kelly?
Dow 6831 down 231 at 2:28PM Fl time.

Looks like 6500 is closer than some thought.

:omg: :omg: :omg:
When the last optimist tells you to stop buying and sell out instead (probably amserdam), start buying.

All I said was that to get to 6500 on Monday would have been nearly impossible.
