I didn't check all of them, just sampled one or two producers in each section but of the ones I checked some had multiple production zones but all were vertical. I doubt much horizontal work was being done in the 80's when those were drilled. I'm with you, hoping technology improvements will result in better wells. I just hope people in that area recognize that the potential wont justify the kind of bonus money the HS people are getting and get the keasing inished so the drilling can commence. If they are concerned about taking too little, do like I did and exclude the HS zone from the lease. One production report had 684 bbl and 1851 mcfe for the month of April. Even at todays prices, the OG people can't pay big bonus bucks for that level of production.

glad to see folks still talking about stuff in N. Bossier. Did anyone hear of a big lease taking place in Plain Dealing area of Bossier Parish as well as a little Webster? This was going down last week. Unable to onfirm.

TigerDog, slightly different subject. Heard State leased Cross Lake bottom for 17,500. per acre today. Do you know who got it? What will this do for the people who have acerage to lease near the lake?

That lease was last month for 14,500. Today's price in Caddo for 30,212. Also a tract in Desoto of 1400 acres for 27,500 per acre.

There have been no big leases in Plain Dealing nor will there be. Unless of course you consider 300-400 per acre a big lease.

Nice cash for Desoto. Looks like they received $1M more than there entire parish budget for 2008.

Thank you tigerDog for answering Cross Lake bottom lease question. We too had heard Ches. What do you think that will do for lease prices around the lake. We have a drill site. We have been approached by several companies. Not signed yet.

Here is another stupid question. If CHK, HK, and XTO are all making offers to lease 30 acres in northern DeSoto, at what point will they just pass on besting each others offers? I have heard of $21,000 in Stonewall but I cannot confirm it. Right now, they are at $18,000 on the 30 acres for me. Each offer, the other company says they want a chance to match or beat the offer. I couldn't be happier that this is taking place, but does anyone have any idea what their max will be?

TD83, thanks for the ongoing info...very informative.

Can someone explain Secy. McKeithen remarks in the Times re: rentals of one-half the bonus payments paid during the primary term?

I can understand rentals being paid for shut ins/delays, or something beyond the primary term, but I am not familiar with this species of rentals.

Also, what is the word on the Samson well at 19-15, when do you expect test results?

Also, I heard Petrohawk was set to drill in that township, does anyone have the serial number so that I may follow it on sonris?

Thanks in advance.
