If you were selling a 40k vehicle to buy a 30k vehicle and invest 10k into something else I might get it.

The odds of you taking that money out and investing it into something else that will make you more than 20k+ (before interest) is highly unlikely.

You have new car fever and are trying to justify it with numbers, it won’t, take some Tylenol for the fever, get some rest and sit on it for a month, if then it is what you want to do , do it because you want it not because it was a financially good decision

Whats happening right now is finance companies are waiving stipulating new loans on the closing of a previous open auto.

Instead of taking the hit from less people buying cars, they're choosing to finance you on a new car and letting you default on your other financed car.

Repos will skyrocket, which will cause the used market to tank.

I'd guess 6-9 months from now will be a great time to buy a used car.
