I watched every match from both Houston and Morocco. Stevie J's results exceed his game and I mean that as a compliment.
I've never known that to not be the case. I remember watching the NCAA final between him and Rhyne Williams and in the early portions thinking Stevie was just completely outclassed by Rhyne. That was the way it appeared from a shotmaking perspective. But then, next thing you know, Stevie's just grinding him out and picking him apart little by little. He ended up winning the last two sets of that match comfortably.
I made the comparison between him and Brad Gilbert many moons ago and pride reacted like I'd just compared Michael Chang to Goran Ivanisevic, but I think it was a valid comparison both then and now in that both of them were/are just good at figuring out ways to win points despite seemingly being inferior to their opponent.

The guy is two-time NCAA champ, 25 in the world and can't hit a topspin backhand. I've only ever seen him try like twice, when he was pushed off the court and forced to hit up on the ball for a passing shot. That's a testament to his toughness and smarts.

Was it the argument between pride and I?

Should we have a separate thread devoated solely to Federer v. Nadal arguments?

I completely agree

Masters 1000 Titles:
1 Serbia Novak Djokovic 30
2 Spain Rafael Nadal 28
3 Switzerland Roger Federer 26
4 Czechoslovakia Ivan Lendl 22
5 United States John McEnroe 19
I wouldn't be surprised if Nadal pulled back even with Djokovic before RG. I would be surprised if he took the lead outright, but I can't completely rule it out.

Just to be clear, this doesn't make sense.

Rafa in a 3rd set with Kyle Edmund.

In other news, Serena was 8 weeks pregnant when she won the Australian open.... The other women should be embarrassed

I have an account at men's tennis forums but can't go because of the reasons you stated. I can't even take it.
Interesting.

Carry on then. Just don't pretend to be surprised when people don't want to participate.

A GOAT we can agree on.

She didn't even lose a set.

What animal has two thumbs and was arguing five banned usernames ago that Serena was GOAT?

Nothing that will change with dialogue.
Andy's out. If Stan goes down, there will be a surprise finalist in the top half. I would have to go with Cuevas.
And just like that, Stan is out.

I was able to hedge this partially, but I'm hoping the youngster wins me $1K.

Beating Rafa in Monte Carlo is a big ask. The way this draw is shaping out, I'm thinking it is TGGRN's to lose. I'll be interested to see him play Djoker, though. Poor form though Djoker may be in, he gives TGGRN fits.

Oh, I'm aware. 9 MC titles is no joke. But if he brought the same level as he did vs. Edmund, +250 was worth a shot.
Clearly he stepped it up.
Clearly he stepped it up.

Updates on today's matches:
-Chilic takes out Berdy, who continues his terrible form
-Murray loses. What the hell has happened to him?
-Goffin up a break in the third against Thiem. Come on, Dom. Step it up. This is supposed to be your surface
-TGGRN is giving the young german a clay court lesson thus far.
-Down goes the stanimal as well
