He and the OU kicker were finalists for Ray Guy award. Both have missed in post season.

Hawaii beat San Diego State and Stanford this year. Cal got killed by both of those teams. That's why Hawaii was slightly favored coming in to this game. So far it looks like Cal is the much better team.
This is why it was so critical to get rid of Justin Wilcox after nine torturous years of mediocrity. The sun is finally rising again.

Considering Cal's mediocre recruiting, the defense usually was pretty decent and more consistent than the offense during Wilcox's tenure. In fact Cal has a pretty good record turning out defensive backs recently.
Wilcox is respected among the coaching fraternity, so I yeah I think he would be fine as a DC. As a head coach his players seem to like him, but his record of underachievement as a HC is undeniable.
