It makes no sense. Even if he gets a bigger contract next year, will he ever be able to recoup this year of lost wages?

This is what I don't get. Is sitting out one year going to recoup the $4 mil or so you lost by not playing this year? Even if his plan works and he gets drafted high a year later... He lost out on some money this year, and is probably racking up the bills while he waits for April 2010.

Another reason Texas Tech will never be confused with an institute of higher learning.

No, Crabtree be smart and shite. He'll count all his bills and his missed salaries and add it to his new contract's negotiating price. Thus making more than the #1 draft pick, which he feels he should be paid that much because in his own mind, he's just........better.

his nfl career is over before it ever even starts. he's making a huge mistake. the niners have been more than fair to him..

it doesn't matter if you know you are better than the guy who went before you.. he claims his injury set him back.. well then there you go.. he had an injury issue.. lots of guys fall in the draft.. adrian peterson should have never went 7 overall..

crabtree was a beast in the ncaa.. but he played for a high power spread offense.. how many years has he even played the wide receiver position? 2? i know he is good.. but sitting out a year is going to set him so far back in every aspect.

Texas Tech's offense doesn't look like it's going to miss a beat. If they keep it up and one of their WRs racks up a bunch of yards, it's going to give him even less leverage than he has now. And he has almost zero as it is.

He should be thankful for getting drafted where he was because of a weak WR class. He's a in the Boldin/Bowe mold, Boldin was a 2nd rder, and Bowe went 23 overall. Except Bowe is taller, bigger, faster and stronger.

Not defending Crabtree, but is there anybody other than Al Davis that thinks DHB is better than Crabtree?

I pretty sure not even DHB himself thinks he is better than Crabtree.

Yet 4th round pick Louis Murphy is better than both atm.

IMO the niners need to get him in because without some kind of deep threat the offense isn't going to take the next step. They have a good coach and a solid D and Shaun Hill has potential, but he has no weapons. Even the Oline and running backs are good, just no wideouts.

Tech's offense has been the same way the last 10 years, they were racking up yardage before Crabtree got there, and will cotinue to do so after he is gone. recievers before him have put up good numbers because of the offense, but the difference between him and them is that he is a legitimate receiver. he is strong, runs through arm tackles and manhandles DB's, he would have put up numbers in any type of offense. I think he has gotten bad advice from relatives about his situation, but it has happened before.

Who lied to you? Crabtree is no deep threat, he's a possession type receive. and his strengths are good hands, athleticism and YAC. That's why the Raiders didnt take him in the first place, because they believe they already have a possession receiver in Schillens, who btw can run a 4.40 and can go deep. DHB is a work in progress, if he can get the position down, he'll be a top tier WR in the league. His speed is freeky. But that's a big IF cause he's looking like shite, extremely unpolished receiver.
