Solid coach but not really what I would call top-tier to take over a 5A school. At least not as of now. I think he’s not used to having so many kids wanting to play. Each team had nearly 30 kids last year when he was having to beg for kids just to field a team at Runnels. That just takes away valuable reps from the players that need it most. He finally gave in and made some deep cuts for next year.

They still don’t have the dudes yet to compete with the big boys but they will have a senior-laden team next year that should make some noise come playoff time. They have some legit players coming over the next few seasons so don’t be surprised to see some hardware being added to the trophy case soon.

Think of him more as a “slow burn” than a “win now” type of coach.

I’m talking about St. Amant. The summer tryout is usually just an evaluation for the real tryout in December, and hardly ever does an incoming freshman make the team for the summer. They usually don’t make the team until the December tryout, which is when the Freshman team is created for the spring.

Not true, St Amant does have a December tryout but usually just adds a couple of players. The tryout last week was the main tryout, they added 12 freshmen. Dutchtown's tryout is in December though.

Will be interesting to see if the new principal makes more of a concerted effort into the sports program at St. Michaels. Currently they are building a football stadium and hopefully adding some lights to the baseball field.

Kid played in showcase event last weekend at Sam Houston, Barbe, and Westlake. Barbe is like sitting in one of the better Mississippi Juco facilities Sam Houston and Westlake were both nice as well. Much nicer than Centrals facilities. Cannot believe the Sam Houston coach would have considered moving East unless it was Live Oak or Zachary (Facility-wise)

With Sham moving across town to Central, who get Central private job? Assume it will be Sandifer but I heard he was still teaching at Walker and was volunteer coach at CP last year,

I believe Sandifer has a couple years for full retirement. I would be surprised if he takes HC at CP.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Sandifer show up as an asst at Central considering his connection with Sham and I know he might have a couple years left to put in toward retirement.

Would years at CP count towards retirement in the public school system?

His son just graduated so he may go with Sham. He has another son at CP but he has a few years before he is old enough to play. Probably get his retirement then help coach his youngest if he decides to play.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster. Gotta trim the fat

Didn't think so. Seems like asst at Central would be the better choice.

Central is fixing to make a massive investment in their baseball facilities.

Don’t be surprised if Sandifer is the coach at CP, he can stay in the drop program and continue teaching at Walker while serving as a non-faculty coach.

I like Sandifer. If that is true, he would be a great addition at CP.

he aint leaving SH imo, he has the upper hand talent wise until the 2030 class enters barbe. Hebert just got the Huge Video board he wanted, just got the 15k ipitch programmable pitching machine and has a kid entering 8th grade and the 8th grade and the incoming freshman class are stacked much more than barbe.

and yea Barbe, SH and Westlake all have awesome Facilities. Barbe is the most complete overall.

here is video that shows Barbes Facilties, they are the best in the state.
