what do you see in oj mayo to make you think he'll surpass westbrook?

Well when he came into the league, he was a legit scorer who could throw up 20-24 a game, however his defense was suspect. His defense improved this season, but his offensive production slipped due to inconsistency which I believe was caused by a roll back in playing time.

I believe that playing with Conley, Gasol, Randolph, etc will help him learn how to be not only a good individual player but develop his skills as a teammate.

Here is a good breakdown of the stats for the 2011 season. Nobody's top five got all the players correct. Lebron leads the league statistically, so I guess that makes him the best overall. However you also need to pay attention to the position of the players. Go Melo

I think that the stats to show PER are locked out right now, but that is the closest thing we currently have to an overall player ranker system. Is it perfect? No. Is it a nice tool to gauge efficiency without bias? Yes.

Top 5 2011 PER (from my memory):
1. Lebron
2. Howard
3. Wade
4. Paul?
5. Kobe?

I know the top three are right, but I think that Paul and Kobe were the next two. TTF or SFP, please correct if I am wrong on that list.

LebrOn was the 3rd best player on his team in the finals.

I think people are forgetting just how awful he was.

The best players step up in the biggest moments.

Beating the hell out of the Wizards doesn't make you a great player. Averaging what? 5? 6? points in the 4th quarter of NBA Finals games doesn't make you a great player.

I believe that's a baker's dozen. Before you go apeshit and say that "OMG he thinks Collison is better than Westbrook", I don't believe that all these guys are currently better than Westbrook.

Read the origional post, idiot:

I'd love to know how all of those guys have more potential than Westrbook. He's one of the best athletes in the NBA. He might be the only guy last season who made both Lebron and Wade seem slow
