Yeah, they probably could've gone about things a little better, but it's always a tough situation when a legendary coach hangs on longer than he should have.
And most do. Bryant, Bowden, Paterno (Sandusky scandal aside), off the top of my head.
Tom Osborne is the only one I can think of who went out--by choice--on top, though I'm sure there are others.
