And New Mexico's loss to Wyoming. Can you say ouch?

Sorry to Bash
But having Memphis over UConn is an utter joke, and can't be said with a straight face. There is absolutely no way you can make a legitimate argument, when comparing the two teams resumes, UConn and mEMPHIS
absolutely no way!!!
But do like the all the hard effort that goes into making these brackets

My top seeds won't change, except that (even though you can't see it) Oklahoma is out of contention and stuck on the 2 line.
Posted on 3/13/09 at 3:38 am to BraveTiger225
The only thing that really happened on Thursday is Oklahoma is out as a number 1.
Posted on 3/13/09 at 3:38 am to BraveTiger225
I didn't have the NMex score...now they're out. I think SDSU takes it.
This is difficult - every team is playing it seems. Keeping up is just about impossible when all I am going by is my info and my gut.
Ok, so why Memphis? I have several reasons and you just gotta flow with me here...I have them in there as of now bc I think they're the only one of the top 6 teams, other than Mich State, that will win the conf tourney. Yeah, it's unlikely...but just wanna see if this occurs. Yeah, they struggled with Tulane...they're not challenged. They are bored. I think we all know how truly good they are though. They have won some games against some good teams. In any case, they sort of just fit there...I didn't put them out west...they've been getting thrown out there and they deserve a break. They cannot be put in the south because the Sweet 16 is at the Pyramids. The east...well...too many other teams fighting for that spot at Boston. So...MW it is. So, they get to play Chat/ASU winner instead of Pacific or Cornell...does it matter? The committee might just see this and forget the "overall 1 seed" bc it's sort falling under the "Who gives a shite" category. This is a season, where the top 8 teams are all about equal and you can argue 12.
Duke's rpi and sos dictates that they should be a 1 seed, but NC beat 'em twice...but I got Duke in as the ACCt winner.
I dunno...so much going on and it's hard to stay on top when I have my own life going on, too. I'm keeping up with all this because I started it and I don't wanna quit now. Just gotta see what happens. Tomorrow should be fun.

Then again...I am not sold on my decision...UGH
I bumped Memphis back to a 2. If Duke wins the ACCt, they might get a shot at a 1. Their rpi and sos is very good, if not the best by Sunday. I think, logically, this makes sense.
I need sleep...I may change my mind in the am, but as of now, this is where I rest.
The Big East getting THREE #1's??? I just don't think it's right. The ACC is the best conference. They deserve 2. Um....yeah.

I think if Mich ST wins their tourney they are a 1. UNC is a lock for a one as is Pitt. Louisville wins the Tourney they will be a one
Posted on 3/13/09 at 5:29 am to Lithium
the ville should be one with out winning the tourny. they won the reg season and now pitt and uconn are both out of the big east tourny.

I'm gonna redo a bracket today, but I have a hunch the big winner was Michigan St. They can be a #1 seed with everyone losing in the first friggin round.

After yesterday's carnage...
EAST
1 Pitt v 16 Radford
8 Purdue v 9 Texas A&M
4 Xavier v 13 American
5 Florida St v 12 Northern Iowa
3 Villanova v 14 Binghamton
6 Arizona St v 11 Wisconsin
7 Butler v 10 Siena
2 Duke v 15 Cornell
SOUTH
1 UNC v 16 Chattanooga/Alabama St
8 Dayton v 9 Ohio St
4 Syrcasue v 13 W Kentucky
5 UCLA v 12 Florida
3 Wake v 14 Robert Morris
6 LSU v 11 Creighton
7 Texas v 10 Cal
2 Memphis 15 ETSU
MIDWEST
1 Michigan St v 16 Morehead St
8 Marquette v 9 BC
4 Xavier v 13 Stephen F Austin
5 Utah v 12 Cleveland St
3 Kansas v 14 Miami (OH)
6 West Virginia v 11 San Diego St
7 Tennessee v 10 Minnesota
2 UConn v 15 Morgan St
WEST
1 Louisiville v 16 CS Northridge
8 BYU v 9 Utah St
4 Illionis v 13 VCU
5 Gonzaga v 12 Maryland
3 Washington v 14 North Dakota St
6 Okie St v 11 Auburn
7 Clemson v 10 Michigan
2 Oklahoma v 15 Portland St
LAST 5 IN: Florida, Maryland, Creighton, San Diegon St, Auburn
LAST 5 OUT: Penn St, Rhode Island, New Mexico, South Carolina, St. Mary's
The bubble really sucks this year. Note on Viriginia Tech: their profile sucks. They have Maryland's flaws only moreso. However, they are still in contention if they upset UNC. And Maryland will probably fall out once they lose to Wake.

Bracket projections after Thursday, March 12.
Automatic bids are in BOLD. Projected Auto Bids are in CAPS.
NOTE: UCLA is NOT the projected winner of the Pac-10.
OTHER NOTES: You may not like where LSU ended up, but LSU and Arizona State had to switch regions to make logistics work. It was the absolute last move I had to make. They didn't switch seeding lines, however. Those that did swap seeds for logistics were: Utah State/Ohio State, South Carolina/Texas A&M, Oklahoma State/Tennessee.

My new theory on where we end up and why I have us in Miami:
We are the best seed of the SEC teams. The SEC's top team usually and traditionally stays in the south. We went west in '00, but we were also tied with 3 other teams. In '06, we were tops and stayed very close to home in B'ham and ATL.

So Saint Mary's is both one of the last 5 in and one of the last 5 out. Pretty impressive feat.
