"You're 7-7 in Big 10 play...just cannot lose the next two games. You gotta go 1-1 and win a game in the Big 10 tourney and you're in, assuming they're doing a Big 10 Tourney."

-Me to Buckeye two weekss ago.

Congrats to your Buckeyes...always a better field when a team like them gets in.

I hate you Brave. You definitely beat me on this argument. I had forgotten that these two played. The only thing I can say is that VT beat Miami and Wiscy went one in done.

Admittedly, I have not been crunching the numbers like I did back in Jan/Feb. Grad school is kicking my arse, but I am kicking back. I have been watching a lot of ball, though. I need to review some things. I STILL am not sure I like Wiscy.

Here's another to review 225:

Temple with a couple of a10 tourney wins or Wiscy?

To bring up some profiles of teams brought up on the other threads:

ZONA
#59 RPI, #44 non-conference RPI
9-9 conference record
2-9 road
7-5 last 12
2-1 vs. RPI top 25
4-9 vs. RPI top 50
7-12 vs. RPI top 100

TEMPLE
#39 RPI, #38 non-conference RPI
11-5 in conference
9-8 road
9-3 last 12
1-4 vs. top 25
1-5 vs. top 50
4-8 vs. top 100

MARYLAND
#62 RPI, #68 non-conference RPI
7-9 in conference
2-6 road
6-6 last 12
2-5 vs. top 25
3-7 vs. top 50
7-10 vs. top 100

I think Wisconsin has a better profile than all of them. Of the three, I think Maryland's is the best, but not by leaps and bounds. they did lose to Morgan St.

God, you really don't like Wisconsin, do you?

Here you go. Even beating Xavier wouldn't put Temple over Wisconsin.

WISCONSIN
Record: 19-12
Last 12: 8-4

RPI: 39
SOS: 13

vs. RPI Top 50: 5-10
Good wins: Virginia Tech, Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan (2)
Bad losses: Iowa

TEMPLE
Record: 20-11
Last 12: 9-3

RPI: 40
SOS: 52

vs. RPI Top 50: 1-5
Good wins: Tennessee
Bad losses: Long Beach State, UMass

Something more to the point. We're gonna have to do some comparisons on the bubble with South Carolina. They are going down at the moment.

SC might just be out now. That sucks. LSU matches up better vs. them and we could have used another win over them...esp if Baylor can keep it up.

I hate South Carolina's profile. They have beaten nobody. A loss probably dooms them, but I have Auburn and Florida ahead of the Cocks on my S-Curve.

Off the top of my head, they've beaten Florida and lost to Charleston. I barely had Florida in today, but that doesn't really mean much. They could still be there and USC out by the time I update tonight. Florida beating Auburn doesn't really change much, if it happens.

Cocks are out unless ALL other bubble teams in their position move out.

Here's my latest take:

I have decided that 225 and others have persuaded me that Wiscy is in. I took VT out.

RIGHT NOW, SC is still in...but that could change depending on what happens the rest of the night.

I think Saint Mary's is back in. The committee must look at the fact that Mills was out for a month and change. They didn't do well vs Zags, but not many did.

I actually agree with what Gottlieb just said (I just threw up in my mouth a bit) that Creighton is getting a ton of help right now thanks to some of these bubble teams.

They, along with St. Mary's, starting to look like better options than some of these fledgling major schools that can't win a game.

why?

i dont see us as matching up poor with either team, and state winning helps our rpi more than usc winning since we played them twice already
