I lost respect for Roy Williams in UNC's loss to Florida State. With 10 seconds left, and three timeouts down three points, he goes against normal game protocol and doesn't call a time out to draw up a play.
you're assuming that he doesn't prepare his team for that type of situation. imo he did the right thing for two reasons: 1, you don't give the other D time to set up, and 2, you don't give them the option during the time out to decide to foul you (to prevent the 3). They got a decent look, it just didn't fall. losing respect for him because of that and thinking that he said, at that moment "frick the ACC tournament" is laughable, imo.

I'm just saying that with enough time on the clock and three time outs in your pocket, it's a bit odd to not use one. And, define good look. I've seen much better than that. If good look means it got to the rim, then sure.
Part of me just hates Carolina and Duke and Tobacco Road basketball and the national media asskissing that goes with it. I'll admit it.

it wasn't a wide open look, but your not going to get much of a better look from 3 considering the other team is willing to give up anything but a 3.

Pisces,
Awesome job on this all year. I check it out all the time.
But if you think the SEC is getting more than 3 teams in you are high.

And you have Syracuse/Cleveland St. playing each other. That would be a rematch and the committee doesn't like those.

Since when? They have had many rematches. LSU has been a part of one even.

Pisces,
You staying up to watch the Big West final? I'm a bit curious to see this one. Pacific has been good in the past. I'm just doing it for the sake of putting the proper team in the bracket. I think either is a candidate for a 16 seed.

I am at work and don't have my latest projections with me, but here's the important stuff:
Last Five In: Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota, San Diego State, St. Mary's
First Five Out: Creighton, Penn State, Arizona, Auburn, New Mexico
Will update projections during the Big Ten final, and a quick redo just before the pairings show on CBS at 5 p.m.
The protected (top 16) seeds are as follows:
1 - North Carolina, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Connecticut
2 - Memphis, Duke, Michigan State, Oklahoma
3 - Kansas, Villanova, Washington, Missouri
4 - Gonzaga, Florida State, Wake Forest, Purdue
LSU holds at 6; Tennessee projects as SEC champ and moves up to 6 as well. SEC only gets two teams in

Memphis over UCONN as a #1
Don't be suprised if Duke gets a #1 if they win today. SERIOUS!! The Committee loves them.

Memphis over UConn was a tough call. I may still change my mind before the pairings come out. The ONLY difference is performance in the last 12. Memphis, obviously, has won them all and UConn is 9-3, with 3 losses to very good teams. But even one loss in Memphis' streak would see them a lock on the 2 line, so I'm not sure. It's a razor-thin difference.
And PJ, don't worry. I'll be back in time for the Big Ten final. I have to do the work Sunday morning thing, and the son eat lunch with his mother thing, both things society says I should do without reservation.

If FSU wins (which there's a good chance), is there any chance they can make a 3?
