Agreed that 2007 is still the wildest and most memorable season I can remember.
Bowl games meant something and carried major prestige. The ESPN soundtrack for college football was amazing. Nothing like Ron Johnson coming on over the TV with a night game with Auburn playing in Death Valley. Conferences were more balanced even though the SEC was starting to dominate a year earlier in 2006 with Florida beating Ohio State.

South Florida
Boston College
Oregon
Kansas
West Virginia
Georgia
The Curse of #2 was insane and it was probably the swan song of parity in voting before biases and perception dominated the next decade.

It was an incredible year of college football. People just cant get over the off field stuff.
If you had the ability to not know about any of the NIL or transfer or 6th year eligibility stuff everyone would be talking about how last year was one of the best years of CFB ever.
