Jack Del Rio to LSU
Skip actually confirmed that the interview was set up, but his or Del Rio's flight was canceled due to weather IIRC. Les got interviewed before they had a chance to reschedule, and the rest is history.
Crazy how things work out.
Nah, Del Rio stood up LSU because he was afraid if it got out he was interviewing for another job, the Jaguars could fire him for cause and void his contract. Skip told that on the radio a few years ago. I can't remember the exact details. Either Skip and the search committee went to Del Rio's house and he wouldn't answer the door. Or he was supposed to meet them at a restaurant and his agent called Del Rio and told him not to get out the car.

Saban to Texas is the big one as it relates to the SEC.
Michael Jordan didn't have the flu in the "Flu Game" he was hungover. I guess this one could still be "true" but it has never been proven.
When Dale Earnhardt Jr. left Dale Earnhardt, Inc. after the 2007 season, it was rumored that he would be going to Richard Childress Racing to drive a #3 car.
