Why hasn't the trade been made official by the Astros? The articles on the website even said it hasnt been made official.

All the players involved have to be rounded up to pass physicals first.

H Apparently, the #Astros are still looking at Aroldis Chapman via an ESPN article. Nats are more interested
No thank you.

Consider me skeptical. It wouldn't really be a rational trade. We just traded a pretty good package of prospects to Philly for a prototypical 9th inning flame thrower. Does it make a lot of sense for the Astros to send another package of prospects to Cincy for a player who will only be around for once season and who, after the Giles trade is more of an expensive luxury than a necessity?

I guess the rationale starts with the fact Giles is an unproven closer overall.
If you think you can win it all in 2016, you are attracted to the Yankee-like backend of last year. Talk about shortening the game with Gregerson/Sipp-Giles-Chapman.

Theres also the possibility that Chapman gets a suspension for his domestic violence issues.

I bet they regret not giving him up last deadline

I mean it depends on how cheap he can be had now
Unless it's a big time bargain I don't see the point. Would rather deal those prospects for a SP if you're going to deal them at all

Yeah, would have to be way cheaper than it was last week
Plus, our clubhouse atmosphere is top notch right now (assuming Giles isn't the biggest cancer in the world). Last thing we need is a distraction. But of course, winning cures all

If chapman gets suspended for a long tine next year he will lose his right to free agency and the astros will control him for another year. Its worth a shot if he can be had for cheap

I don't really want a woman beater. We already have giles who can throw gad and as far as we know he doesn't abuse wimenz.

With the Cubs getting Heyward there is rumor they want to flip a corner bat for a cf. They say the Cubs would prefer Heyward in Rf. I say, offer gomez and a prospect for kyle schearber. Put him im our small lf. Move rasmus back to cf. That would make me happy
Posted on 12/11/15 at 12:38 pm to iamAG
And when I say prospect I mean high level. The problem is in my senerio they wouldn't want gomez. I think they would want springer.

Schwarber for Springer is unacceptable to me.

I don't think we trade Springer. But we could get the corner bat we want out the Cubs if they want a package including Gomez. Not sure what they'd be interested in on the farm of course.

Schwarber is there best hitter. I think he is about as available as Bryant
Soler is the guy they will be willing to move

Tony Sipp has re-signed with the club. 3 year deal

Apparently, Schwarber is as good as Gattis in the OF.
Get him solely for the DH spot. With that said, they aren't trading Schwarber.
