Schwarber is a butcher in LF. Guy was a catcher but the Cubs didn't like him there long term so they settled on LF. Guy absolutely belongs at DH. I don't really want him though. Low average, high strikeout, never walks. The price to get him would be absurd and he isn't really different from what we already have.

I think we would've heard if it fell through. Possible some of the guys dealt are on vacation and just waiting for them to get back.

Oh for frick sake. If Giles doesn't turn into the best closer in the AL, this trade is garbage. We gave up a metric frickton for a guy who has a half season of experience as a closer...for a shite team. Its a little different with the playoffs on the line.

I know we hate Appel on a Carterian level. I still believe in the guy though. The stuff is there...the results haven't been. I think its a case of something clicking for him and he'll be a good pitcher. Not sure I like giving him up

I'm glad we kept Fisher. Appel will be 25 next year and has yet to dominate at any level against younger hitters.

I would still rather give up fisher over Appel personally. Our SP depth in our system just got much thinner
