Well... at least we don't have to worry about Luhnow bringing Carter back at a discount. Sumbitch will probably hit .275 with 61 homers this year for the Brewers.

The Brewers have agreed to a one-year, $2.5MM contract with slugging first baseman Chris Carter, reports Kristie Rieken of the Associated Press (Twitter link). Carter’s contract also contains incentives that can boost the value of his deal.

David Stearns making the Crew into Astros North. Villar and Carter reunited.

The Nats are trading Drew Storen to the Jays for....Ben Revere. Sounds like straight up swap, no prospects. That's not as high a price as I would have expected.
Posted on 1/8/16 at 9:29 pm to Lsuhoohoo
wow, that is a deal... I think I like the Jays better

Storen was a guy we'd previously discussed in this thread as someone who could bolster our pen but we were unsure of the price. The Giles trade may have made it unnecessary but at that price, Storen would have been a nice add.

Storen as a closer has been money, at that price the Stros could have just sent Appel and been done with it
Curious if this means the Jays go after Upton or Cespedes

Apparently we've asked Atlanta about Ender Inciarte
LINK
I really like Inciarte as a player but we don't need another OF. Makes me think we're shopping Gomez for a SP as the trade rumors write up speculates

have spoken with the Braves about center fielder Ender Inciarte, according to ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick (Twitter link). It’s not clear what level of interest Houston has at this point.

If we ship off Gomez for a SP, I'd like to see Marisnick back out in center.
Posted on 1/13/16 at 2:47 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
I don't see the fit. We'd be selling low on Gomez right now given his down year relative to what he's done in the past.
Posted on 1/13/16 at 2:48 pm to msutiger
Inciarte is a really nice player. Low strikeout high contact guy that we need. He wouldn't be cheap but he would be a large upgrade over Marisnick as an everyday player. I like Jake but I still think he fits best as a 4th OF right now until he shows more consistency at the plate
Posted on 1/13/16 at 2:57 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
Would rather have cespedes.
Posted on 1/13/16 at 2:58 pm to Tiger Ryno
Yeah and Id like to add Greinke and Alex Gordon as well

Heyman says we're looking at Ian Kennedy. Can't see him being an upgrade over a healthy Scott Feldman.

You don't have to tell me that, I'm against trading Gomez. He's a spark and his personality fits well with Springer, Correa and Altuve. He may be a little angrier (
) but he plays with a fire in him.

Our cheapass ownership would never do that.
