That and so that the other players in camp are getting more playing time. This is standard practice. Minor league camp is at the same facility so it's not a stretch to send a minor leaguer to an away game or call guys to fill in for a split squad game.

Also, sometimes major league players will play in a minor league game to get work. They can do it without any problems

Keuchel.will be starting a minor league game next week.

White ropes a line drive down the line but 3rd baseman makes diving catch. Great contact though

Hunch says unlikely LMJ will break with the club healthy. Not good at all.

MarGo crushes his 4th HR of the spring (this one from the right side where he keeps showing great pop).
I bet he starts versus LHP at 3B*. Just like I think Duffy will do the same in place of Tucker at DH.
* Just as I type this, Valbuena thumps a 2B off the wall versus a lefty.

Well...Jake Buchanan probably won't be our closer. That looks to be a good news.

Just ran across this on TCB. In an interview held on Sunday, JL says
Link to interview is in the article:
News Flash: Great White Can Hit
edit: the interviewer also mentions Reed & White may be better defensively at first base than originally thought.
quote:
White "the leading contender" for the first base job

There are 4 guys who literally do every single thing better than singleton. He should be jettisoned.

I would trade Singleton for a decent backup catcher who hits lefties well. But could he even fetch that?
Posted on 3/15/16 at 5:27 pm to Jwho77
You couldn't trade him for conger .

It's looking like the Rangers are making a serious play for Jonathan Lucroy.

Rangers are loaded in the farm.

Would anyone else besides me be okay with margo playing first everyday until we call up reed probably around 6 weeks after telling season starts? He could fill in for all other positions when they need a break and we could have duffy or the other guy (forgot his name) to play first or third when margo is playing fill I'm at the other positions.
Posted on 3/15/16 at 9:29 pm to iamAG
No. I will take white all day. He gets on base.
Posted on 3/15/16 at 9:33 pm to iamAG
I'm not for it. Margo has been swinging a good bat but he's so valuable off the bench as a spot starter. He can play 1st, 2nd, SS, 3rd or LF if the starter needs a day off. I think he'll play a ton but you lose a very versatile utility player by penciling him into one spot every day.

There's always a chance he forces himself into every day roles
Posted on 3/15/16 at 11:31 pm to Lsuhoohoo
I don't see how you lose a versatile player by starting him. If someone needs to be pinch hit for use white to pinch hit the slide marwin to the position and put white on first. Plus the only position that will ever be pinched hit for on the infield is val or first base. They would pinch hit m for the outfield.
