I wouldnt mind pollack but I think given that the organization seems to believe big time in Tucker and wont part ways with him in trade talks signing Brantley for less makes the most sense plus adds a lefty bat.

I’d rather get a big bat before another arm.

That said, Keuchel and LMJ will leave a big void.

Why not both? Trade for Bum. Sign Cruz.

#Astros showing continued interest in free agent Nathan Eovaldi, sources say. He is the second best pitcher ever from Alvin, Texas. And if Eovaldi signs with Houston, No. 1 on that list will watch him pitch from a seat behind home plate . . . @MLBNetwork @MLB

I would feel comfortable giving Eovaldi 4 years. Get him, Cruz and Grandal/Ramos.

I felt like Eovaldi would be the target all along.

I would do a 4 year deal with NE. Virtually no Money committed to the rotation beyond this season.

Sign eovaldi

Sign either Ramos, grandal, or lucroy

Sign AJ pollack.

Trade Tucker a lesser prospect for goldschmidt.

I firmly believe none of these things will happen.

Not gonna lie, I have started to find Bauer hilarious

I understand he’s a douche IRL who has a history of not getting along with teammates but I love how he just openly plays the villain role and riles people up

Little blurb on Nelson Cruz from the athletic
quote:

Pondering the value of Nelson Cruz

Judging strictly by fWAR, C.J. Cron at 2.1 last season was not much worse than Nelson Cruz at 2.5. To some executives, the fact the Rays designated Cron for assignment, then lost him on waivers to the Twins when they could not trade him, bodes ominously for Cruz in free agency.

Cruz, 38, is a far more dominant hitter than Cron, ranking first in the majors with 203 homers the past five seasons and sixth in OPS-plus (minimum 3,000 plate appearances). His WAR suffered because of his minimal defensive contribution – 136 of his 140 starts were at DH – and below-average baserunning. Cron also offered little with his baserunning, but at least spent a good amount of time in the field, making 58 of his 125 starts at first base.

Cron, though, drew virtually no trade interest even though he is 10 years younger than Cruz, projected to earn an affordable $5.2 million in arbitration and coming off a season in which he hit 30 home runs and produced an .816 OPS.

Cruz is unusual in today’s game, performing at an elite level in his late 30s, providing enough production for teams to be comfortable using him almost exclusively as a DH. He earned $14 million with the Mariners last season, and perhaps some AL team will sign him for about the same amount in a one- or two-year deal.

Only thing that makes me nervous about Cruz is him just falling off a cliff and being a net negative

Soooo basically the same thing that we’ve had as our DH the last few seasons

Someone is going to get left holding the bag on Cruz. I hope it's not us.

I mean yeah. I don’t remember how much we paid Beltran, but if Cruz wants 14+ that would hurt

Tucker will start LF.
White to DH.

I think a full season for White will be acceptable.

At least, I prefer that scenario over Cruz.

Ultimately I think it will be goldy. That will make white expendable.

I really want them to sign springer and Correa long term. Commit that money before you spend it on an aging Cruz.
