Good point, but he's not a good enough bat for 1B. Plus, it looks like Yuli will play there a bunch (if Bregs isn't moving to the green zone like Gammons said).

Peter Gammons tweet

Some owners are too dumb, cheap to invest in Latin America. houston's international staff signed Albert Abreu and Jorge Guzman for $65,000 & $25,000 and turned them into Brian McCann

I mean, if we had someone like Sale (a 27-year-old ace) on the block, we'd be demanding Bregs too.

That's a far cry than his whining about tearing down a franchise to build it up again from a few years back. Funny how his tone changes after the Cubs do the same thing and wins it all.

Sale is the wrong guy to pursue. Quintana is better.

I'd take either of them. Still don't want Archer.

The Astros have placed first baseman Jon Singleton on outright waivers, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports. Kaplan expects Singleton to clear waivers and be outrighted to Triple-A, and off the Astros’ 40-man roster.

Singleton needs to wait 2 years retire with 4 more million at age 27 and smoke pot.

I remember when people thought he was going to be a legit ryan howard type at 1B for many years
Posted on 11/19/16 at 4:14 pm to dabigfella
I also remember people on this board and the media ripping management for taking a flier on him with that contract and the Astros fricked him over.
Now........?

Among hitters in whom #Astros have shown interest, per sources: Mike Napoli. Team prefers LHH, but Nap could be 1B/DH and offer leadership.

Lunhow on MLB Network just now: We have "tricks up our sleeve" on bringing more players in.

I don't dislike Napoli by any means, but I don't think he'd be a good fit at all. Plus I think his production at the plate will decline quickly.

So he has trades coming.

I've really enjoyed all the rumors flying around, and that we have actually made moves to back up the talk

Anyone see the story about the Rangers minor leaguers jacking each other?
