I know I know, he's just the only early 1st rounder offensive playmaker I could think of. But you get my point.

They did not need to draft a WR. Hopkins is very good and Andre Johnson still has some tread on the tires.

Plus, Sammy Watkins was always going to be the first WR taken this year.

Drafting the best WR in the NFL is funny?

Hindsight is 20/20 and he's not the best WR in the NFL. That actually is funny. If they were taking a playmaker, it would have been Sammy Watkins.

Remember when you OSU guys said Hyde was better than Hill? Good times

Hyde had a very solid rookie year as a number 2 power back in San Fransisco.

Hill is a number one guy due to injury and running style hence he got way more carries. Apples and oranges. Wait until Hyde more than likely takes over first team duties when the 9ers let Gore go in free agency.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I'm sure they would love to go back in time to trade down, get more picks and get OBJ instead of clowney

Yup. It is scary how terrible some posts are in this thread.

Everyone definitely needs to see Hyde have the crack at the starting job before we definitively decide. However, there is no doubt that Jeremy Hill is very good.

Bernard got hurt and Hill didn't look back. Plus Gio was never gonna be a number one guy and never has in his career.

Gore is 31 and rushed for 1,100 yards.

Calm down fella, your colors are showing. Hill was and is the better NFL back. Hyde will be a solid player but Hill will be a top 5 back in the NFL in the coming seasons.

But

I don't think there was ever a doubt that he didn't have that potential. I even said as much.

I said they were very similar and had similar burst but LSU fans didn't even think they were comparable.

Hill would start for San Fran. The best part is Hill is tearing it up for a team from Ohio.

Gio is not that good of a running back, especially between the tackles. It is patently obvious to anyone who watches them play.

Frank Gore was still 9th in the NFL in rushing yards. (Hill was 8th and Gio was 23rd).

There is no doubt that Hill was better this year, but let's see how Hyde with a full role. Hill got the job because Gio went down and ran with it. Hyde never had the chance.

You can't make that determination yet. But ok.

If they can actually get a good QB for once and get some production out of Clowney, then they could be one of the best teams in the AFC.

This. The Texans were not going to take a WR with the #1 pick.

And they weren't gonna go offensive skill player with that pick either. It was either QB or a defensive player.
