Because if SEC/ACC fans or fans of a Southern pro franchise even dared to behave like this we'd hear sweeping indictments about poor education and having the proper perspective about sports. For example, Alabama fans as a group have caught more s### for ONE lone tree poising nutcase than any Big Ten fans (tOSU after their nat'l title in football), West Virginia, UCLA (after winning the 1995 basketball title), most Northern pro franchise fanbases has when they without fail riot and destroy property after most of their championships. When these fanbases do it it's somehow marginalized as a few rowdy fans letting off some steam.
