Federer and Tiger are practically the exact same in their respective sports. You could say Fed was even more dominant in Tennis than Tiger was in golf
In tennis it seems like each generation brings a new dominant talent. Sampras then Fed and Nadal then Novak and now it looks like Alcaraz is headed there.
Rest assured no professional golfer playing today that will approach Tiger’s dominance of the sport.

I think Michael Phelps is overrated. He dominated a fringe sport that has little popularity on its own and allows for more Olympic medal opportunities than any other sport.
No one cares about swimming outside the Olympic context, and there’s no fame or money in it unless you are an all-time great.
All the lean 6’4” teenage bodies with athletic ability want to go to the basketball court or wide receiver where they can be in the spotlight with hot cheerleaders on the sideline, sports writers around, and famous coaches in the stands to scout them. They don’t want to spend their high school years swimming the breaststroke in anonymity at the local YMCA.
I am not saying Phelps wasn’t great and doesn’t belong somewhere on this list, but the world’s greatest athletes don’t exactly flock to the pool.

Why limit that to swimming? A lot of "sports" don't have great athletes.
Limit these lists to football and basketball only. And women. Need more wahmen on these lists.

Do you think the incentive or encouragement for a good young athlete to dedicate his talents to the pool is anywhere near that of football, basketball, baseball, or soccer? Or even golf, tennis, or track?

I have no idea why people think Bryant was so much greater than he actually was.
Only on message boards like this one is Kobe Bryant not one of the the best 5-10 basketball players to ever live.
Anyone who has ever played the game knows how great he was.
He was the last of a generation where you hated your rivals and did everything you could to beat them. Before the super friends teams and “me me me” generation arrived. Kobe was 1 of 1.
Well, maybe he was 1 of 2 with MJ.

Tom Brady not top 3 is also insane.

Please explain why LeBron jumps Jordan, Kobe and Curry in this list? Need valid reasons.
Are you serious? Do you not get the concept of the list?Do you think Micahel Jordans two years with the Wizards was better than Lebron's entire career?
Kind of is a joke though that Brees didn't make the list.

IMO, Usain Bolt is #1.
There is no sport that is more competitive than world class sprinting. Running is an integral part of so many sports and games that it is about impossible for someone with a natural talent for it to go unnoticed. It also isn't a talent that is especially difficult or expensive to develop, which makes it more accessible to people in less developed areas.
It is also an individual sport with indisputable results, which means there's no consideration necessary for who had better teammates, different judges, or better or worse competition at a given time.
Bolt also still holds the 100/200 meter world records that are likely to stand for a while.

The disrespect that Judge gets is criminal; whoever made that list deserves some time in the Slammer.

Micheal Phelps should be 1.

He's an alltime great but he's in the 8-12 range more than 1-3. His untimely passing, on the way to Mamba Academy for a game, has transformed him into a martyr for basketball. St. Kobe gets pushed up a few notches by many.

Yea there is no argument that can be made that Kobe is a top 5-7 NBA player. He's fringe top 10, which is still incredible. But he gets a bump in to the top 10 of many lists simply because of his tragic death. About 9 is as high as he should ever be rated.

Kobe represented to an extreme degree the ugliest style of play in NBA history. If there were ever players who's game were defined as "me me me", Melo and Kobe would lead the way. In Melo's case it could almost be justified in that in his prime, he never played with a true second star so he had to hog the ball. Kobe just hogged it his entire career no matter who was on his team.

Bron over Brady is bullshite. Going to 10 super bowls winning 7 of them seemed like an impossible feat before he did it. Also calling his shot that he would play till 45 when he was 35 we all laughed at that shite but he pulled it off.
