yea but we didnt, so it came down to that game
Posted on 2/3/14 at 6:51 pm to Deactived
And neither did they, so it really came down to the head to head.
Had yall won, all the Saints would have needed to do was win a game that was a guaranteed win, just like the Panthers had.

Which game has the division and first round bye on the line?
as I mentioned... the game was @ Carolina. Advantage Carolina.
Who took the lead late, but had one of the best defensive players go down? The Saints. Advantage Carolina
Not sure if you watched the game or not, but the Saints defense abused Newton. He couldn't make a pass until Kenny went out.
Do you honestly believe Carolina has a more well rounded team? Or did they win the division because of the way the season played out, with them getting New Orleans AT HOME for the bigger matchup of their season.
Saints had a tougher schedule: @NE and @SEA. where Carolina got both of those teams at home.
Saints have the better coach, better quarterback and a better offense.
The Saints are top five in offense AND in defense. The Panthers were not.
The Saints are more well rounded and I honestly believe the way the schedules were set up played a big role in how these two teams finished.

this is fricking stupid, but whatever. the other 14 games dont matter? if you go 2-14 and beat a 14-2 team twice, you are better?
The Colts beat Seattle, San Fran, and the Bronco's.
They have been moved to number #1 in my power rankings

Kinda like the Panthers playing the Falcons and nearly losing it?
Thank you Matty Ice.

So because I have much more of an unbiased opinion than you and don't agree that a team that was 2nd in the division is better than the division champ, I am dick riding?
Your opinion is just as biased against the Saints as mine is for it.
All that matters is what happened on the field, and on the field the Saints are a better team than the Panthers. Sorry.

As mentioned, having the Saints over Panthers shouldn't be humorous to anyone.
Not humorous.
Sad? Yes.
Pathetic? Yes.
But that's the who-dat nation for ya.

Wins are wins.
If a team goes undefeated but wins them all in a sloppy way, they still go undefeated.
The title has IMO, so my opinion is that the division leader and the team who did so well, they got a first round bye, is better than the team who came in 2nd to them.
The Saints had the chance to win the division and have that bye, but couldn't pull it off to a team that was better than them.
I love how Saints fans thought that a team who was currently 4-11 should have beaten a team that was currently 11-4.
I think everyone is forgetting that Carolina was the clutch king this year.

The only difference in the two teams, is that I dislike the Saints but like Drew Brees, and I don't care at all about the Panthers as a whole, but HATE Cam Newton.
And you compare one game, I judge off the importance of a game.

The Falcons blew that game.
Carolina won by 1 point. And although Atlanta was absolute garbage, which I enjoyed, I figured that they would get a win for Tony. Wasn't far fetched to think they would get a win for him in his last game.

Which is the only reason why the Falcons kept the game so close IMO.
If you took out the team wanting to win for Tony factor, it would have been fat fetched.

Actually I compared two games. And since our overall records were so close, basing who is better off the head to head is perfectly logical. Don't let your bias get in the way of logic though.

quote:Honestly...I disliked the Panthers more this year. Living with a Panthers fan who hates the Falcons as much as the Saints fans here this year was awful. Was honestly pulling for NO to win the division. Obviously I wanted you both to lose in embarrassing ways in the playoffs and I kind of got my wish.

Panthers were simply the better team this year...if the Saints didn't want their completely fair home and home series with Carolina to mean so much, maybe they shouldn't have lost to the Rams and Jets down the stretch

I don't think about who won or loss at home/road
I think about who would win on a neutral field to determine my opinions on final ranks

Please tell me how they were simply the better team? Why do you ignore results on the field?

Well that settles it
Who would be favored on a neutral field at this second? I'll give you a hint, it's not the Panthers.
