So who do most of the real boxing junkies think would win this fight? I assume Pacquiao would be a fairly heavy favorite?

Let me know when there are actual legit sources for this fight besides a twitter account. We've all gotten our hopes up multiple times and been let down.

No. Mayweather will be a moderate favorite.

2 years ago, I would've picked Pac. But the way he's looked in his last couple of fights gives me pause. He looks to have slowed down a bit and he takes breaks. Guys who fight with his style age a lot sooner and they do so overnight. On the flip side, Mayweather hasn't fought an impressive fight since Mosley, which will have been 2 full years before the projected fight date. Lot of unknowns.

That's it. I'm not saying shite else about this fight. Because I don't think it'll happen.

He's fought once since then and he cleaned Ortiz' closet the entire time. He landed the right hand whenever he felt like throwing it. That was a sparring session.

It's probably gonna be Mayweather vs Sergio Martinez. Bob Arum already has Manny's next 2-3 fights scheduled already. Bob Arum will not put Manny in the ring with Floyd. Manny makes Arum too much money. Manny has to leave Bob Arum for that fight to happen

I wasn't too impressed with is performance against Ortiz. 1-because Ortiz is not very good and 2-the cheap way he ended it. Not saying Ortiz wasn't partially at fault for that ending.

That right there is the BEST fight boxing can make, but it won't happen because it's a huge risk with little reward for the Mayweather camp. Floyd is a businessman and businessmen don't get involved with high risks/low rewards.

Pac is a tiny risk with a huge reward. Arum just has to play ball and that's not a walk in the park.

I think Mayweather just took his time and made easy work out of Ortiz. He went ahead and finished it when Ortiz gave him the chance.

He does that in all of his fights...it just looks more impressive when his opponent goes all-out. Ortiz was cautious.

It's not too much of a risk anymore. Sergio didn't look that good in his last fight against Barker. The weekend of Mexican Independence Day. IMO it has to be Sergio or maybe Canelo

Espn just said pac's manager said this fight idea was a "sick joke" but then was quoted saying a PPV between these two, he would set the price at $70

I heard that too. Bob Arum likes to skew things in his favor. It's a big ego thing

Jimmy Kimmel had the best idea when he said the winner should take all. That way neither can cry about not getting paid enough for this fight.

I respect your opinion and yes Mayweather might win this fight but this statement is a joke.

I wouldn't think the finances of this fight would be the problem. It seems like a pretty simple 50-50 situation on a massive purse. Not much to discuss there.

It's not, actually. You'll see for yourself if this thing happens. The phrase "styles make fights" exists for a reason, especially in this case.

Mayweather is all wrong for Pacquiao. You already saw how bad the matchup is for Pacquiao when he fought Marquez the first two times.

and Mayweather is three skill levels above Marquez

*Pac will whip Marquez the third time around in two weeks. Pac has been at 140 or above for almost 3 years (6 fights....5 of which were at 145 or more). Marquez has been at 140 or more only once and he looked horrible. Not to mention he has nearly been stopped at 135 by freaking Juan Diaz and Michael Katsidis. I think he is done now and Pac will finish him....maybe real early too.

I think the main reason Pacquiao is fighting Marquez for a 3rd time is because Arum wants to Pacquiao to beat Mayweather in public opinion (since he can't get Mayweather in the ring).

If Pacquiao knocks out Marquez, then Manny will have defeated every opponent that they have both faced better than Mayweather .

You know as well as I do that Manny is a much much better fighter now. Mayweather will have his running shoes on for sure. He will run and counter and try to win on points. If thats "style" you can have it. I cant see him hurting Manny. People forget how fast Pac is as well.

Im ready for this thing to happen.
