And you seem to be forgetting about the 39 other teams they have beaten. It's the NBA, anyone can beat anyone.

Charolette 28 wins
Sacromento 14 wins
Golden State 21 wins
Chicago 29 wins
Minnesota 18 wins
New York 25 wins
Memphis 16 wins
I don't know about you but I got 151 wins.

They lost to Golden State and Minnesota (D-west was out as well against Minn) without Tyson Chandler.

They lost to Chicago and Memphis without both Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler.

You are correct. We have no one on the bench that can score 10+ points a game. Our starters are on the court too much and we crap out in the fourth quarter because of it.

These losses are not nearly important as the teams sub .400% record against the top 10 teams in the league. Their results against the league's best teams are much more telling at this point in the season than what they've done against the bottom of the league.

Top 10 is a bit much. Top 7-8 should be more accurate.

Once you get into the 10-12 range you start dealing with mediocre teams like Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta, etc. Wins over such teams aren't really that big a deal.

But by my count the Hornets are 7-13 against the top 8 teams in the league, a meager 35%. and in 15 of the games they've failed to reach 90 points.

So on top of the fact that they have an atrocious perimeter defense, they have trouble manufacturing offense v the good teams.

Of course this isn't surprising when TC is your center and Peja/Butler are your wings.

Again, there's only 3 good teams in the West: LA, SA, and Houston. The rest are soft teams that don't want to or don't know how to play DEFENSE.

don't try to say Houston is with LAL and SAS.
houston is in the same boat as utah, portland, denver and N.O.
all capable of playing great, but are missing something that makes them a great team.

I agree that Houston is a cut below the Spurs and Lakers, but also a cut above those teams you listed on account of the fact that they actually have a good defense.

Maybe I overvalue defense and a scoring big too much, but history says it's conducive to winning championships... not that I'm saying the Rockets will.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

1 LA Lakers 50 13
2 San Antonio 42 20
3 Houston 42 23

You think San Antonio is head and shoulders above Houston and Utah? Really?

i'm talking about playing in the playoffs, LAL and SAS are head and shoulders above houston

and until houston can win a playoff series without Hakeem, they don't really scare anyone in the playoffs.

besides that they have no real offensive player that can take over a game.

i would agree that they play one of the best team offense and defenses in the league.
but they really lack an offensive scoring power, especially without McGrady even though he's overrated.
and don't say Yao b/c he will never be the one shooting a shot in the final seconds of a playoff game, nor is he in shape enough to really take over a game.

and don't get your panties in a wad over this, i think houston is a good team and i wish the hornets played with the same passion they do every game.

What teams have done in past years has absolutely nothing to do with what they will do in the present.

Yao disagrees

The Rockets have 2 serious legit offensive threats. What they also have that is better than 99% of the NBA is depth. We have 8 guys who can score at any time and play team basketball.

This is false. More times than not the final play WILL be going to Yao unless we are down by 3. Not only is yao one of the most dominant offensive big men in the league, his 87% free throw percentage makes him ideal incase he is hacked. Yao is the Rockets go to guy in the last second of any game.

cause he has never done it before

what 2? Yao and who.....Artest.

and i agree they are deep and are a very good team, just don't think they are a good playoff team.
once you get to the playoffs every team plays with the passion that the Rockets usually play with in the regular season.

and this is why Houston won't win a playoff series.

Yao has 6 30 point games this year, with only 2 of them coming with double digit rebounds.
7'6" should get at least 10 rebounds every game which he does not average.

CP3 for example has had 8 30 point games, with only 3 not having a double double, although 1 of these was nearly a triple doulbe.
in those other 5 30 point double double games, one was a triple double.

that is how you take over a game.

Yes Artest

he averages 9.7

And to say we won't win a playoff series because of this is retarded. You said yourself we have a ton of depth so 1 player not getting 10 rebounds when he puts up 30 points is not going to be the reason they don't win a playoff series. There is a reason we are 3rd in the west right now and it isn't luck. We have a 19-12 record against current playoff teams and a mojority of those loses came when we were playing an injured T Mac. We are a better team now that everyone knows their place on the team night in and night out and there are no distractions. The team as is will get out of the first round. If we lose another starter or run into a buzz saw in the first round we will probably be 1 and done again.

my bad, i didn't know 9.7=10

and i am saying you won't win a playoff series b/c you are giving the ball to Yao in the clutch times.

3rd one night, 5th the next, 4th the next, 5th the next, then 6th, back to 4th, then 3rd.
the rockets are 3rd with a 3 game lead over the 8th place team.

that's why all the houston fans on this board are retarded, being proud of being 3rd in the west at the moment, then y'all lose a game and don't show up until you win the next game and are back in 3rd or 4th.

this also could be why your in 3rd place at the current moment dumbass's. You'll have to scroll down a little to get to your team
