That's exactly why heel hooks should be illegal. By the time you feel any pain, it's too late and something is torn or in this case worse
ETA: just seen that it was a result of a motorcycle accident. Still in all, heel hooks are dangerous

The stretcher is OLD AS frick.
No backboard to transport.
An American ER would have more people around and his arse would probably have been intubated immediately.
But yes to open a knee up like that and pull it back requires a lot more pressure and shearing force to tear it away like that.

worse leg injury I remember seeing was this one. Hill threw a leg kick that was checked, he didnt even know his leg was broken until he put his leg back down and he fell like a tree.

Not surprised it's fake Rousimar Palhares is the most famous person in MMA for leglocks and I find it hard to believe sparring partners would go that far risking injury for their upcoming fight because of ego. In sparring once you have the submission you usually don't crank on it.
