So the fact that he played in a loaded Western Conference.....

The fact that he was in an offense w/o adequate personnel to make it work at the time....

The fact that Kwame Brown was on his team.....

had nothing to do with it

I don't disagree that Lebron on that Laker team would have advanced further. Lebrons game and his skillset is perfect for the triangle

Kobe's or even MJ's game for the most part doesn't really work with what the Triangle is all about

What system you are in factors heavily.

The Lakers would still be the best team in the league and the Cavs would be the Heat. Kobe is a stud but he can't carry a team with less talent, which is why the Lakers missed the playoffs and then were the 7th seed in the 2 years before Pau arrived.

The year they missed the players Kobe and Odom were injured and missed significant playing time, Rudy T also left midway through the season due to health problems. He is still a huge Laker supporter for what it's worth.

Also, winning 45 games in the west back then and taking Phoenix to 7 games is more impressive than Lebron beating two sub-500 teams and an aging Pistons team en-rout to being stumped by a West team in the Finals. Think about that for a minute. There is NO WAY Lebron gets by Phoenix, a 60+ win team that year in the first round of the West.

Also, the Lakers were in FIRST place in the West before Bynum went down and they picked up Pau in 2008.

I love revisionist history.

Both were injured or played injured most of the season. Odom missed around two months.

can't argue that at all

they both had to adapt their game to that system

I don't think the Cavs would have really been that good. Probably about Hawks level.

Lakers, I have no idea. Every game close playoff game I've seen with LeBron has been Lebron dominate the ball offense and every one else stand around. The Lakers would be an entirely different team if that was the case. It'd be an interesting to see LeBron run a real offense, but I'm not sure if you can put that blame on anyone but Lebron though

Were they not aging? Here's a pop quiz: Name the most winning team Lebron has EVER beaten in the playoffs, keep in mind his two straight number 1 seeds.

That aging Detroit team with 53 wins. Lebron has NEVER beaten a team with more than 53 wins when it mattered. NEVER.

Yet you are going to imply that Lebron could have carried that 2007 Lakers team past Phoenix and the Spurs (the same team that stomped him) to get to the finals in the West?

for the record, you said that it was more impressive to lose a 7 game series in the 1st round than to win three series with daniel fricking gibson as your second best player and make the nba finals.

holy shite dude...i'm not a lebron or kobe fan. there is no bias from me. you're just straight fricking retarded.

I emplied that? I'm saying that Kobe can't cary a team like Lebron has. I'm saying that the Cavs would have been a #4-5 seed in the East with Kobe in place of Lebron. I'm saying that I am amazed with the gayness of your Kobe posts and how you have 0 credibility on this board. That's pretty much what I'm saying.

I hate Kobe but the simple fact is he doesn't let little things like an elbow or supporting cast keep him from winning.

Let's see, if Lakers had to play two losing teams (from the Eastern conference mind you) in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs that year, they would have waltzed into the WCF. If they had to play a team that was not nearly as dangerous as phoenix, meaning an aging Detroit team, they would have beaten them (as evidenced by the fact they came 1 rebound away from beating a superior team in 6 games).

So yeah, Lebron having the easiest path ever to a Finals appearance only to be crushed by a real team is not that impressive.

Carry them to what? I must have missed Lebron winning 4 rings.

He has let a supporting cast keep him from winning
