Your love for the lakers gets in the way of you actually having a rational argument

The Pistons would have probably beaten the Lakers pretty good that year.

Since you seem to be so fond of the transitive property(which makes absolutely no sense, considering basketball is first and foremost about matchups), can I say that "aging" Pistons team one year older would have beaten the Lakers in 2008? Considering they put up a better fight than the Lakers, I can't come up with any other conclusion according to your line of thinking.

meaning an aging Detroit team

Who on Detroit was "aging"? Didn't they make the ECF the next year and take the Celtics to 6 games? How many games did it take Boston to beat the Lakers that season?

Your argument is flawed as frick, dude.

And yet I am the only one referencing what actually happened in a rational way.

How it is rational to say that Lebron can "carry" a team better than Kobe when Lebron has never won anything?

How is it rational to say that Lebron was awesome for "carrying" a team to the Finals in 2007 when he only have to beat the Wizards, Nets, and an old Detroit team. The top 7 teams in the West could have beaten all three of those teams, INCLUDING the Lakers.

How is it rational to say Lebron "carries" a team better than Kobe when Kobe has 4 rings and a finals MVP?

Who is really being irrational? Me or you?

umm that's the point of the whole thread

shaq is the #1 reason he has 3 rings, don't kid yourself about that, and yeah kobe got a ring last year. we're saying lebron would have a ring if you swapped him in place of kobe, as kobe's team is clearly better.

I'm talking about kobe. Some guy said kobe hasn't let a supporting cast keep him from winning and he has

The 2008 Pistons were a 62 win team and were much better because Dale Davis and Chris Webber retired and they picked up Rasheed Wallace, Arron Afflalo, and Theo Ratliff.

They picked up Wallace in 2004.

o ok. but you can't say Lebron's was just as bad and the level of competition each faced in the playoffs isn't even comparable

I love how he says that the Pistons went from old to young by picking up Rasheed and Ratliff.

Not even mentioning the fact that rasheed was on their title team that beat LA in 04.

You figure he'd remember Wallace played on the team that demolished the Lakers in the 2004 Finals. But I guess he was too busy burying his head in the sand while Kobe shot 38 percent during the series.
