What about bombing a ball onto a road, example LSU's #16 and you hit a car...what then?
I instinctively drop my club when the ball is headed towards cars
My dad hit a windshield on the old number 9 at LSU.

Nope...If I hit it there, it deserves to stay there!

Yes, depending on the fence and the dog if there is one

I would think you have to be pretty hypocritical to buy a house on a golf course and get upset when a golf ball enters your yard.
Some people do get butt hurt about it though. There is this one house on the corner of two holes and they have basically taken up a good part of the golf course to square off their backyard, actually about 20 feet of "their yard" before there are ob stakes. I had a ball in "their yard" and the bitch came out and starting yelling at me. I proceeded to make nice big divots in her st aug on my practice swings and my dad told her to frick off and send her old man out if she had any problems.

Through 36 holes in the tourney I only lost 3 balls
It helps that those yellow ones are so easy to see submerged

If you dont want Golfers in your back yard, don't live on a golf course.
I hate BR golf bc every real course is in a subdivision.

For the record on breaking someone's windshield with a ball, I was taking BP at church league softball practice when I was in high school and I hit a ball over the fence (not a big accomplishment, they were shortish) and the ball hit a moving car. In the side window.
What could I do? What could they do? Nothing. They just kept going.

assumption of risk..person assumes the risk when driving by a golf course, or parking by a baseball field.
and it's impossible to prove intent if someone hits you or object with golf ball

There's a course in Houma that has a hole next to a busy street. When you drive up to the hole, it says that the golfer assumes all responsibilities if he/she should hit a vehicle with the ball. Are they wrong in stating this?

That was always how I thought, then we played Santa Maria one day and one of the guys in my group hit a house and dented the stucko. The guy cahsed us down on the next fairway and wanted to fight and then demanded a business card or he was going to call the police and sue him. I told the guy "You live on a golf course and never thought your house was going to get hit?" I thought he was going to explode he was so mad.
So no, I dont go get my ball for that reason.

No the golfer is responsible. The one by the big draw bridge?

Vieux Chenes driving range has a net, then some woods, then a busy street.
i've put balls over the net before, but normally when i am done with irons i go to one corner of the range and hit driver at the other corner to make it longer.
went out there two weeks ago and there were signs for irons only

That's kind of how I feel now. I once broke a window and the lady came out and wanted my info. I was young, playing by myself, and kind of freaked out so I just gave it to her. After a while, she just said don't worry about it since I was nice about it. If I do break another one in the future I will essentially tell the person to jump on a dick.

This is not always the case as the assumption of risk can lie on the driver and/or homeowner.

I don't know the law. I would think golfers would not be liable for houses on a golf course. I know my dad paid for the windshield he broke. I also had a friend that broke one at Dumas. lady tracked him down and he gave her false information. Before he finished playing she had a cop with her. I don't think the cop said he could arrest him but he ended up payign for the windshield.

They have the same kind of sign on one of the holes at Chastain in ATL. I sliced the shite out of my driver trying not to hit a car, damn sign got in my head.

Exactly, our incident was during a company tournament, so we didnt want to ruffle any feathers, but had it been just a group we would have not given that guy shite. I didnt make you live on a golf course.
