Although my dad never did that, I was blessed to play for 2 separate HOF coaches in my college career. They both were huge psychopaths that, while playing, I would have GLADLY run barefoot across legos to open hand slap if I wouldn’t have been kicked off my teams.

And at 35 or so, wisdom began to set in and I came to understand their motivation and love and respect them to this day.

They’re not there to hold your hand or be your friend…if you put in the work they will make you better by pushing you past limits you thought you could never pass. Herb Brooks dad new what to say to drive his son.
