the first 3 quarters. i was tired as the frick last night
so you didnt see when Posey took over for a team that was short Peja and Chandler....a team that up to that point hadnt made a basket in the 4th?

are they both the go-to scorer, as a 2-guard, on their respective teams? wouldn't you want your best perimeter defender on either?

The Hornets may not win last night without those huge Posey threes in the 4th. All the Hornets seem to be asking him to do is what the Celts asked him to do last year, play solid D and knock down open shots, he can finish well in transition and NO isn't asking him to score 20 per or create off the dribble

13 points?
look i don't hate the guy, and if we added posey along with the actual pieces that we needed i'd be real happy
but this is exactly what i thought was going to happen. he's james posey-bush to the nola faithful now
and in 2 years when he's breaking down and we're paying him $6M, while he's a year away from an expiring deal, people will still be spinning the signing. even if the signing kept the hornets from making moves in successive offseasons

which is fine, if you have a set-up like the celtics did. kg, pirece, and allen
we have cp3, west, and chandler to go along side posey. that's a big drop

answer the question fatboy.
you didnt watch. For you to look at a box score and make assesments is gayer than a sweater vest + trance music.

Slo come on man the Hornets are not playing to win in 3 years they are playing to win now. Who gives a shite about 2 years from now?

No peja? Why wouldnt you mention him?
Oh...its convenient for your argument

Posey earned his money last night, bottom line.

i understand this
i don't mind the signing, but he's not a piece to put the hornets over the top
and since the hornets announced that they were poor, i'd hate to see his contract hinder the moves they can make to get a 2 guard who can score on his own and backup bigman

because he's always hurt and disappears in the playoffs. even if you add him you can add in perkins and the celts still have the advantage b/c of the front court comparison.

Perkins? Really?
Really?
Really?

NOH doesnt get out or Round 1 last year if they play the Jazz, they own the Hornets just like the Hornets own the Suns.
really not true - i was at the game where we crushed the jazz and then the last time we played them we rested all our starters.
not even close to being like suns/hornets.

It is a big drop unless Peterson can consistently put up games like last night which would really help Peja and then Posey would be as effective as he was with us last year. Peterson scoring 15 to 20 per game though may be a stretch

perkins with kg
much better D with those 2 and you get the same offensive inefficiencies with the 5
kg + perkins control the boards better when it gets physical. chandler/west had major problems against SA when they had to get those tough boards. kg and perkins (along with powe) did the opposite: their rebounding and interior D was the edge against the lakers

2-0
The Hornets beat the Suns 108-95 in Phoenix one night after defeating the Warriors in Oakland. New Orleans becomes only the third team in NBA history to start 2-0 with both wins on the road against opponents which had won at least 48 games the previous season. The 1993-94 Knicks beat the Celtics and Cavaliers and the 1972-73 Bucks topped the Suns and Warriors.
The Suns never led in their home loss to the Hornets. Phoenix had held a lead in its last 174 home games since losing to San Antonio on March 6, 2004. That had been the second longest current streak in the NBA behind the Spurs, who have led in their last 244 home games.

Keep complaining about Posey...SFP. The dude has been a HUGE piece the first two games. His job is not only to score its to take charges and provide energy. Look past the stats Hollinger-kiss arse...

Slo I don't think that Posey is what puts them over the top. I think their experience from last year along with Posey is what can put them over the top

I'll tell you this: if he DOESN'T score in the playoffs, they'll be home for the Western Conference finals again.

why couldn't you have just said "rondo"?
And FWIW - Peja looked as healthy as I've ever seen him last night. He was moving like a 30 year old instead of a 50 year old. He was moving so well that he rolled his ankle for crying out loud. I think his back is in the best shape it's ever been since Sacramento.
