He's a bit like Josh Hamilton IMO

both are huge batters with really good plate discipline and pop who were phenoms, batting-wise
tough comparison because while heyward has good plate discipline it appears, frank thomas was sick.

I'd say a young Bonds or Griffey.
I was going more for a young black Rob Deer.

The Bonds Griffey mix is a good start

More Griff. Bonds didn't have Heyward's power/power potential until he juiced.

are you comparing their styles or how good they are? heyward is nothing like bonds/griffey

I recently thought of HOF'er Andre "Hawk" Dawson.
(Another guy who won rookie of the year..)
the love for him was a little similar as he was the bright shining star that fans came to the ball park to see.
but again Jason Heyward truly has his own style and establishment about him.. aside from the fact he's bigger than most of the guys listed.. he has a maturity about him that you just don't see.. especially for being only 20 years old.
i think yall may have something with the Hamilton comparison.. as far as they are close in size/weight.. yet good speed, the potential to be a big time slugger, great all around avg hitter.. both hit from the left side..
The very first guy he reminded me as far as an overall hitter (And I mean just what he does in the batters box) was actually Chipper Jones. The way he can be very patient at the plate.. he can make adjustments to the ball and hit to all sides of the field with both power and average..
but again you just have to come back to the fact that Jason Heyward is still his own legend. The way the ball sounds coming off his bat is truly unique.. His short swing.. The way he torque's his lower body down when he jumps all over the baseball.. I don't know if he should be compared to any one else.. So I ultimately vote for.

actually I said Hamilton because they both wear red & blue...
But seriously, the kid has alot of potential & its through the roof. Die hard non braves fans hate him but also respect him. He just seems to have "it" and that makes me a huge fan. I was a Braves fan when I was a kid, not saying much because I'm only 20. But I kind of ventured away from baseball because of my love for football. I got back into it and the Mets were my team because I am a huge David Wright fan. But Heyward has brought me back to the Tribe. I even found my old Chipper Shirsey the other day!

I wasn't necessarily a Mets fan. Just kept up with what Wright was doing. I could give a frick less about their record

he's basically saying unbelievable.
as being a braves fans.. the mets (of all teams) are the absolute most hated team. and it isn't even close. and then to jump on the wright bandwagon is even more unreal.. considering the heart and soul fan favorite of the atlanta plays 3rd base.

This is still unacceptable.
Hell, when I play the mets in The Show 2010, I bean Jeff Francoure every time he is at the plate
