Vick's not one of the best running qb's ever? I'm not even a fan but please.

He also routinely led the league in sacks when he started. He isn't teaching anyone how to be better in the pocket.

As an Eagles/WVU fan, I have mixed feelings about this.

I will say, Vick has been a real professional since his release from prison. He took his demotion to Foles like a man, and really encouraged the young QB. Vick and Foles stayed great friends after the QB switch. Say what you want about Vick, but the man has been through a lot, and is one tough SOB. I'm hoping he will be a great mentor for Geno.

Pocket presence, yeah can't argue Vick vs Young/Elway etc. But his wheels vs Sanchize?.. I'm probably just hoping someone lights a fire under Geno's a$$.

Another ending to an over-hyped USCw player's career?. .... so sad.

Agree with what you are saying. However, he's not asking for anyone's sympathy. Sometimes it takes a bad experience to change a man and IMO prison changed Vick. He has been a great citizen and teammate since his release.

Kudos to him.

I dont see how he doesnt beat out geno. good signing by the jets. the biggest issue they had was coddling sanchez and never bringing in any real competition.

I agree with that, but I will never feel sorry for him.

I'm not the biggest Vick fan, but I think the NYJ are better in hands than in Smith's for the time being. The Jets needs more weapons though.

Signing Vick is the complete opposite from right. fricker should be shot not playing in the NFL.

WTF? He was a legit NFL MVP candidate just 4 years ago.

Granted, a lot has happened since then. But he's the first competent QB they've had since Pennington, and the first upper echelon QB they've had since Testaverde.
