Warner is a lock for HOF. Not only does he have all the statistics and accolades of a HOFamer, but sportswriters love him. Not only that, but his rags to riches story is too perfect for him not to be a 1st ballot HOF.

If Aikman is in, and he deserves to be, then Warner is in. Warner has a better passer rating, better TD/Int ratio, better completion percentage, and will pass him in yards next year. And he has won a super bowl and been two other times.
Aikman played 12 seasons. Next year is Warner's 12th.

The Dolphins won that Super Bowl DESPITE Morrall. He did everything he could to lose that game
He didn't even play in the game.

I had my Morrall shitty performances confused. It was the Colts he tried to frick over with his QB play

couple more good seasons as a starter to boost his career passing #'s and he'll get in - but not first ballot. i think you've got to look beyond the gross stat #'s though. i mean, vinny testeverde is 6th all time in yardage and no one's putting him in the HOF.
the better question is, does edge james make the HOF? He's 11th in yardage and ahead of OJ, Thurman, and Franco in rushing now and will likely pass Allen, Jim Brown, and maybe Dorsett next season.

If John Madden is in the HOF, then...

He's an average QB who has had the pleasure of throwing to the best group of receivers in the league on two different teams.
He'll make the HOF, but he is insanely overrated.

He'll make it in but probably not first ballot
He'll get in part do to his play but what pushes him over the edge to get him in is his character and his story.

Jim Kelly was never an MVP and never won a Super Bowl. He's in. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. Jim McMahon won a Super Bowl. They're not, and won't be in.
Seems winning an MVP and Super Bowl seperates Warner a little. And like previously mentioned, he's not finished.

Pretty sure he said before the game that win or lose he was going to consider retirement.
