Moore and Guillory blow a 3 run lead in the bottom of the 9th to lose 9-8
Posted on 4/8/17 at 4:26 pm to hendersonshands
Unbelievable. Cajuns lose after being up 8-5 at T9. We just can't seem to win on saturdays.

Yeah that was hard to hear. Moore has been so inconsistent all year. Unreal after the season he had last year.

Yep....not to mention lee. Hate to say it but something will have to be done about that, and soon. All those runs early in the game are what really hurt us.

I know that feel when the bullpen implodes. It's hard to get quality depth there

Tulane has been playing better lately, except for an ugly loss to UNO. Beat Cincinnati pretty bad yesterday and up 6-1 in the 8th right now. Cincinnati isn't good but it's still nice to win on the road.

I really like the way Tulane has been playing. Definite improvement over early season.
In SLC play. McNeese destoryed ACU today to win the series while SLU lost against aTm-CC to lose the series. I'm really suprised with SLU, Lions have been very inconsistent this year. Can see them making a run in the tourney.

I'm encouraged with the way Tulane is playing, although the pen is still a major weakness. Other than that, the lineup has been raking and our starters have been good. We'll need to win the conference tournament to get a bid so I hope to see more improvement.
Southeastern is a bit of a head scratcher. That's a really good team and Riser obviously has elevated that program, but they have some really bad losses. They are the #39 RPI team and had a nonconference RPI of 27. Then they get into SLC play and get swept by Houston Baptist and play .500 baseball.
ULL has surprisingly been disappointing, and even LSU is having somewhat of a down year so far. It's been an interesting season and there's a lot of parity in the state. The in-state matchups have been very competitive

Cajuns and costal Carolina end in a 7-7 tie. Series split 1-1-1
Posted on 4/9/17 at 1:36 pm to TulaneFan
What a crazy arse series. Cajuns and Chants tie 7-7. CCU went up 5-0, Cajuns scored 7 unanswered. Chants score twice in the 9th to tie it up. Looked like the Cajuns had the game won on a double play by Pinero in the 9th, but the 1st base ump made a very late foul call and it extended the inning and CCU scored 2 right after. Pinero was ejected and Gunner Leger came in to play 1st.

I'm thinking last night might have been the jolt LSU needed to kickstart their season. Tigers have been floundering most of the year.
Cajuns were very close to a sweep over Coastal this weekend.

Bulldawgs shut out the owls 6-0 to win their first conference series
Posted on 4/9/17 at 4:10 pm to hendersonshands
That was such a bad call.

McNeese sweeps ACU, 23-9, 13-2 now.

Saw that the Cowboys are Top 25 RPI on Warren Nolan.
Incredible. Hope they can keep it up. Shame they lost the series to SELU last weekend, but it may not matter. With UNO and Sam Houston still on the schedule, they could easily wrap up the Regular Season Title. But that tourney title is all that really matters. Guarantees a trip to a regional.
And why the frick did the last game of ULL/CCU end in a tie? Seriously?

Travel restrictions. Cajuns have to make a flight time. So both teams agree on a drop dead time.

I wonder if they can sneak in if they don't win the tourny. SLC put two teams in post season just last year.

The only teams I can see getting an at-large bid is either Sam Houston or McNeese. Rest have to win the tourney.
Bad thing is that is someone other than Sam or McNeese wins the tourney it will basically eliminate one of them. I really can't see the SLC getting more than 2 teams in.
